I bought this gate to keep our medium-sized dog out of the living room, where she likes to go potty. The entrance to this room is 90", but we put the gate up in the hallway that leads to the room and have been pleasantly surprised by how well it works to keep her out of there. Although she could most likely knock it over, it is solid and imposing enough that she's never even tried. Even our large retriever stays put behind it and has never tried to push it down. I'm very pleased with its effectiveness at keeping even large dogs at bay, and as far as looks goes, it is even better than the picture. Our poor cat also loves having a safe haven to go to - he can leap right over the gate and the puppy actually stops dead in her tracks once she reaches it. I had doubts if this standalone gate would work for us but it has been a real godsend. Highly recommended.

I'll start with the positives: I have tried every dog gate out there and I have to say this one looks good, is lightweight, completely folds up, is easy for people to walk through and is taller and wider then many gates out there. Aesthetically it is perfect.
Now for the negatives and the reason for my one star ranking: It is ineffective! I got this gate to keep my two chihuahuas in their area, and out of the rest of the house. First off, it is pretty easy to move around, the folds in the gate are the only thing keeping this thing upright. Should have more supports, as a toddler could push this thing over in a second. Secondly, it took one of my chihuahuas about a week to somehow figure out how to open the door on the gate, and not she does it repeatedly.
I love the looks of this gate, and will obviously keep it, as I have not yet found anything better out there right now, but for the money I spent I should not have to rig yet another gate so that my 6lb dogs can't get through. Ineffective!!!!

I just bought a Karastan rug and after a few bad pet experiences on it, I had to do something! This gate is worth every single cent. I love it - everyone loves it. It's a beautiful piece of furniture and WORKS! Love the open and close gate part. It's perfect.

Walk thru convenience is a plus. Over 15lbs. dog can push at the side and move over if they wanted to. Just need to block the ends with a heavy object to hold against the wall if that is a problem. Very flexible, endless possibilities for shape of enclosure and you can add sections. Very sturdy.

This gate was simple to put in use. No assembly is required, just open the box and set it up. It's easy to move around and reconfigure. As the description says, it is freestanding using the Z-folds to keep it upright. It appears to be well made: nothing loose or flimsy about it.
The gate has been very effective for keeping our 2 Chihuahuas and 1 Pomeranian off our steps. The swinging door section is a great improvement over our old gates that we had to step over. There is a sliding bolt type latch placed on the top of the swinging section so that the dogs can't even reach it. We've had no problems with the dogs getting through. I can't see how they could ever open the gate, since they can't even reach the latch.
For our small dogs, it gets the job done.

This is for you Jen....how can you say it took your dogs only a minute to figure out how to open the door? It has a sliding latch on the top which seals the doorway in such a way that a Wolfhound couldn't open. Did your fence come with a sliding closure? Even if it didn't, add a simple lock yourself and voila...issue solved....my goodness. High quality gate you would not be sorry ordering..go for it.

This has been a wonderful addition and solve a problem I was having getting a gate to cover a large opening. This was the perfect solution as I didn't want to permanently attach something to the walls. It also allows me to move it from place to place.
