Purchased these headphones for my 81 year old father to use when he visits. He can't hear well, so the TV is always blaring, chasing everyone out. He really liked these headphones and wanted to take them home, so I will purchase another pair. Negatives, no recharging -- purchase rechargeable batteries and charger yourself and connection issues. They do not have a digital audio output -- only headphone jack or RCA cables. One of my flat screens had neither. The other had only a headphone jack. When I use the headphone jack it cuts signal to any other audio device, including TV speaker. Make sure you know what type of connection you have prior to purchasing this item. Other than those drawbacks, great item. As I mentioned, I plan to purchase a second pair.

The manual stinks. Very little in the manual actually occurs the way they say it will when you're trying to set these things up. No illustrations how to hook up. Lights blink when they'er not supposed to. They stay solid when you don't expect them to be solid. Consequently, you end up being confused as you try to get these things to work. Once they do work , they're okay. Not great, just okay. They need more mass in the actual earpieces to deaden outside sound, in other words to keep outside sounds from getting in. Was able to hear to much else going on around while trying to watch TV. The sound from the TV was mediocre. I was expecting better with the padded earpieces. Earphones look good but when you pick them up, they feel chincy, cheap. Biggest pain in the butt on these is there is no way to turn the headphones off. Manual says to press the button on the left earpiece to turn them on. Okay, fine. But when you press the button to turn them off , they stay on. They use two AAA batteries. If you can't turn the headphones off, these things will be eating batteries. You'll go broke putting batteries in the thing. So, I called Brookstone. The guy on the phone says to hold the button down for 10 seconds to turn them off. What a pain in the you know what. They didn't even bother to put that in the manual.

Comments about Wireless TV Headphones:
The product was easy to set up, so long as you read the very clear instructions. The ear pieces are much smaller than the last brand I had, causing pinching of your ears (mine are average size and flat to my head). The Power button is a 'press-and-hold' mechanism that's very inconvenient and requires several attempts to on/off if you don't hold the button long enough/too long. The angle of the earpieces is stationary, and not comfortable in relation to the position of the padded connector on the top of your head, even though the R & L are marked so you know you're wearing it correctly. The sound quality is very poor in comparison to my last set, a different brand priced slightly higher.

Comments about Wireless TV Headphones:
I'm going deaf. These phones are light, comfortable, not complex, and compensate for my hearing loss. I can actually hear music, again. Fancy systems don't really help offset the loss any better, and these have a flat design that actually allows me to put my ears on a pillow without discomfort. At the current price, get another for the living room/TV. You can also amplify conversations with the right equipment.

Comments about Wireless TV Headphones:
My mum is almost deaf so she thinks nothing of having the TV set at the highest point. When she lived with me it was very unpleasant. Now that she's in a skilled care facility her TV habits were unacceptable. Brookstone's headset saved the day! I was afraid she wouldn't like them being 94 with limited finger dexterity...but she did. Her 101 y.o. room mate had a pair. That's how we found out about them. The batteries don't last long but we bought the rechargable type so all is well again. I highly recommend these if you like peace and quiet.
