battery life could be better. it is very well constructed after 30 minutes this small black peace came off but there 4 of them in the repair kit but i think they could have included more because it is such a cheap part. this is a very good helicopter one of the best i have owned the only one better than this was a 40 dollar one i bought a the mall that was extremely easy to fly but it got stuck on a roof but was not as sophisticated as this one. BUY IT

I got this on christmas and started flying it with ease. I flew it about 5 times and the tail motor stopped working. Not due to any crashing, it just stopped. If i get it started spinning it works but i have to flick it with my finger while i hover it infront of me, then keep it spinning. If it stops then it stops for good. Other than that the heli is really cool looking and super easy to fly.

I have reviewed this once before. It is a very entertaining toy. My grandson (3 years old) and I pretty much destroyed the first one learning how to fly it and bouncing it off the ceiling and off the floor. Brookstone replaced it promptly with no questions at no cost, and I quickly broke the landing gear on the second one. When I called to get a replacement part, I also ordered a second helicopter. My "piloting" skills have improved to the point where there are no more hard landings. One thing that I found to be key is holding the control with the thumbs behind and the index finger in front of the joysticks. That makes it possible to actually "fly" the toy as opposed to trying to direct it while it does more or less what it wants to.

I bought this toy to entertain a 3 year old grandson who was visiting. I am still getting proficient at flying it as the controls are pretty sensitive and it is being flown in a living room rather than a gymnasium. It was a huge hit with the grandson, although I can see why it is suggested for ages 12 and up.

This was my second copter, my first one was an air hogs and it was just so cheap, but when I got this I noticed its great quality right away and it is such a smooth rc helicopter. I broke about 4 times and got it repaired each time with the warranty. Overall a fantastic helicopter.

Easy and fun to fly. Will not work reliably outdoors. The description says it's radio controlled, but that is not true; it's infrared controlled which can be a problem outdoors. I only get a few minutes of flight before I need to recharge it. I'm worried that the on-board battery will become a bigger problem in the future as it ages. Also, if you intend to fly it a lot, get some rechargeable batteries for the controller. If I fly it a couple of times each day, I need new batteries for the controller every couple of weeks. It takes 6 AA batteries.

i now own 2 helicopters. the brookstone was the 2nd. was expirienced before we got this one. so i was not bouncing off walls and ceilings. and only used inside.
i does operate smoothly. it is fun. it is very affordable. but i have 1 major problem... the pinion gear for the top rotor slid down the motor shaft and past the rotor gear, causing imediate loss of lift. i looked at it, pushed it back up the shaft and it keeps coming back down. cannot fly it anymore. do not have the package or the reciept.

After opening the product, I realized that you must charge the copter from the remote control, which uses 8 AA batteries. There is NO USB charger!! This is a terrible design and resulted in my promptly returning the product.

Received as a gag from a friend who's taking helicopter pilot's lessons for Christas. He isn't aware but I have a much larger helo. Anyway we were enjoying over the holidays and about 3 days after, less than 10 flights when it made a hard landing from about 4 feet the landing gear just snapped off.
Anyway I just called Brookstone and they're shipping a new landing gear today. It's a bit flimsy so they should include it in the kit with the spares.

This helicopter did everything it said it would do. It was so much fun. Unfortunately the motor inside malfunctioned after only 3 weeks of careful use. The customer service, however, was excellent and brookstone replaced the copter immediately with no hassle, I was very impressed with that.
