I've owned 2 of these clocks and will buy a third if something happens to my current clock. I took the first one I owned to Argentina for 6 months and dropped it repeatedly from the top bunk onto a wooden floor (not on purpose of course). It made it through the whole trip.
I found my current alarm clock at the bottom of the washing machine last night while moving my sheets from the washer to the dryer. I figured it was a goner. But after it dried out for a few hours, I popped the battery back in and it came right back on. I used it this morning without any problems.
There are more high tech travel clocks out there, but this one is a great combo between price, size, and durability.

This is a very poorly designed clock, since you have to detach the back to set the time, the alarm, etc. See other negative reviews; they have more details about why this is dangerous clock to use is you want to wake up for the meeting you flew around the world to attend!
For anyone moving between time zones, this clock is a fatal companion.
Find another clock.

display is easily read with a great backlight, but the case which folds closed in two pieces broke the first time I used it, ie. the smaller of the two pieces broke away.I would recommend this clock for situations where it can be used with minimal handling.Interestingly,my sister has the same clock and I noticed it broke in the same way.

One of best travel companions I've ever had. After at least 10 years, mine finally bit the dust (on a trip, naturally). The latest models look identical except mine had an all-black casing. Thermometer is very accurate too. I'll be buying one just like it.

You have to take the back off from the clock in order to set the alarm. Very unhandy. Very tiny lettering and buttons to do so.

We were looking at how to get the battery door open without breaking it open. No manual available online under the "manuals" tab. How stupid and inconvenient.
Otherwise a very good alarm clock. The light goes out in the ark and therefore does not keep you up unless you press it for light.

I used a previous version (black) of this same travel alarm for years, until I finally knocked it off the nightstand and broke the hinge. The new one (white) has lower volume and I have trouble hearing it. The alarm shuts off in a minute or so without waking me up.

I've had two clocks. With one, lcd screen lost visibility. With the other, the folding part of the case fell off, which wasn't fatal, and then the light wouldn't go off, which was.
