My baby was always distracted by the noises of me washing dishes, talking on the phone, etc. Now, I finally have something that truly creates a constant "background noise" that masks normal household sounds. What i really love is the ability to play the unit continuously. Even the usual "90 minute" cycle isn't enough. I use this and the baby is good for her whole 2-3 hour naps...and ALL night. I just shut it off in the morning. Also, this unit provides a sound level that is actually loud enough for me to have it plugged in on the other side of the room, it doesn't need to be right next your baby's ear! My husband tried to set up a whole "baby playlist" on his IPOD with speakers, etc for her room...but when you have a baby in one hand that you're trying to calm down and get to sleep, you need to just be able to use one hand to flick a switch...not to try and be "scrolling" around for your choice of music. This will my future baby shower for new parents from now on! Enough of the cute onesies...a sleeping baby is the best gift!

This is a great white noise generator, but the power cord (when attached) can act as a radio antenna. When we use this unit in the second floor of our house, we can hear radio commercials coming in on top of the white noise. Pretty crazy. I like the unit so much, though, that I'm going to try to find some EMF shielding that I can use on the power cord before I decide to return the unit.

Both my children use them every night. This noise machine is the loudest one we could find, which is perfect for my son who wakes up with the slightest noise. To give you an idea of how effective it is at blocking out other sound, when it's at full volume in my son's bedroom, you can't hear a person playing the piano or watching TV in the next room. We are having our 3rd child and I'm buying a 3rd one of these. It's become a baby/child necessity at our house!

We have been using this for 18 months and do not leave our home without it. Our baby has slept soundly with this machine and I am on this site to purchase another. The power cord started to give us trouble after less than a year of use. We travel to our lake home frequently during the summer and take our sound machine with us. It does not travel well and the cord has been really finicky ever since. That is really my only issue. So, we'll get a new one for our home and keep the one with the faulty cord at the lake. It sounds like other users have had the same issue.

I was looking for a white noise machine to drown out the person in the cubicle next to me at work. We have a white noise machine in our bedroom that I love, but this one was about half the price so I thought I would give it a try. As soon as I received it, I took it out of the box and plugged it in...and was unimpressed. The white noise sounded like a cheap recording of someone's television set on a channel not coming in. I took it to work anyway to try it out. It did drown out my neighbor, but the noise itself was almost as annoying as she is. One of the bothersome things she does is whistle. While I had the machine running, I kept hearing a little whistling noise, so I kept turning up the volume...and finally I realized the whistling was coming from the machine. It had a little, recorded whistling noise that happened every 30 seconds or so. I finally just turned the machine off, because it wasn't making it any easier for me to concentrate. I took it back the next day and then bought a white noise machine like the one we have in our bedroom, made with a fan inside instead of with recordings.

I bought this product because it was the loudest white noise machine I could locate. It turned a newborn non-sleeper into a FANTASTIC sleeper immediately. It's only a year & a half old but he turns it on himself every night now so I would venture to say it's durable. I am buying a 2nd one today for my baby to be born next month as it drowns out all household noise & exterior noise to hopefully include a screaming toddler. We love that it indicates to my child, such as when traveling, that it's time to go to sleep. I only use for white noise but could see using the other sounds down the road. This machine was a complete lifesaver & I've been nothing but satisfied with it.

This is the BEST sound machine! We used it for my daughter when she was a baby and now use it for my son. 2 times a day for 6 years! All of the the sounds are relaxing. Use the batteries and the sound will not stop during storms or power failure. Travels well too. I am buying a replacement. I think it is the cord, but we LOVE it so much, I figure it is great to have an extra. It is worth EVERY cent!!!
