The write up and photo display for this product are very misleading. If you need to sleep in the back of your "pick up truck." The one with the ridges the run across the metal flooring, this expensive item might be for you. Unlike Tempurpedic's "Mattress Topper," which is mean't to be used on a "cushioned surface," this product is twice as thick, because it was not developed to be used as a "Mattress Topper." It's for sleeping on the floor. It's unneccesarily big, must be checked baggage on a plane, and not suitable for outdoor use unless you cover it with a waterproof material, which will make sleeping on it even more uncomfortable. The visco-elastic foam pad is very dense, which makes it especially suitable if your extremely heavy, or want something safe to land on if you plan to jump into bed out of a 3rd story window (Not a good recommendation at all)! Interesting concept, that's is misleading and unfortunately impractacle.

You can sleep on ANYTHING, ANYWHERE ~ even the floor. I travel to a lot of hotels for my kids soccer tournaments, and I don't leave home without my travel tempurpedic mattress. I got fed up with fighting over it with my hubby, so I purchased another one just for him - and he doesn't part easily with his money. Even my kids love it. Highly recommend it.
Outer cover (washable), has a very unpleasant odor. Just remove, wash, tumble air dry, and replace.
