I do not like a soft pillow. My head sinks down in it too much and I feel like I can not breath. For that reason I like this pillow. I do not sink into it.

There is room on the shape of the pillow for my shoulder so my neck and shoulder get supported all night! I sleep so much better with less body aches!

I'm used to a softer pillow and the ridge is sometimes uncomfortable - especially if you try to lie on your back - not recommended for a side pillow! It's also very firm where I put my head down on the side. But I have never preferred a foam mattress, so that may give you a clue.

The pillow provides room for your shoulder when sleeping on your side. I also purchased the suprima pillow which is not so high and I like it better, but I might just like lower height pillows in general.

I unfortunately do not use this product because I much rather use the symphony pillow. This pillow is not comfortable because it isn't supportive enough. I actually would rather buy the symphony pillow over all the other pillows.

Ah, the SidePillow. I spent lots of time and money trying to find the right pillow, and I've heard a LOT of people say the same thing. THIS is MY pillow. I can definitely see where it's not perfect for everyone, but the key for me was finding a place to try pillows out. I found Relax the Back online and saw they had a local store that carried pillows to try. The heavens opened and choirs sang Hallelujah. I was thrilled to hear of their "loaner program" that allowed customers to actually take pillows home to try them. This is revolutionary. I spent 2 hours in the store trying to decide which one to take home. I experimented with each pillow for at least 10-15 minutes, laying in different positions, with different heights, etc. After laying on the SidePillow for about 10 minutes, the Tempur-Pedic "cells" began opening, and its firmness changed to sheer comfort (for me).

I still maintain that there is no ONE pillow that will work for EVERY person. To read reviews that say "Do NOT buy this pillow" and similar sentiments steer people away from something that might just work for them. My advice is to find a place where you can either lay down on pillows to try them out and/or find somewhere that is willing to try a "loaner program" where you use the floor model for several nights.

THE BEST PILLOW EVER.
I used to suffer from headaches every week, raging from minor to severe, for 20 years prior to my first night w this pillow. I used to wake up w headaches…after the first night my headaches were gone. Since then I forgot what a typical headache feels like. I have been using this pillow for the past 3 years. That's THE ONLY pillow I sleep on. I am both side AND a back sleeper, so this pillow is comfortable either way, at least for me. I even slept on my pillow through my pregnancy and was never uncomfortable using it.

This pillow is specifically designed for those of us who sleep on our sides, and I can tell you, it's made a difference in the quality of my sleep. No more aching neck and shoulders after sleeping on a traditional pillow with no support. Now I literally can't sleep without it!
