I use this Heli to fly around my house and out at the local School's Soccer Field. It has amazing range for such a little guy! It has 3 channel mode for just starting out and 4 channel mode for special maneuvers as well as a low speed and high speed mode for outdoors.
High wind to moderate wind is impossible to fly in and it is actually very easy to loose track of the copter because it is so small.
I've flown at least 8 different kinds of RC helicopters and this one is by far my favorite!

When working it is a nice copter. Lots of fun to fly, but it has too many very tiny parts that break on impact. The main problem is it's fragility and cost. I and my son received this as a gift on 12/25, and by 1/7 had broken nearly every part once, with only routine use.
We used all items included in the repair kit - about 4 connecting rods, one rotor blade, fastening screw that got lost. Spent as much time fixing it as we did flying it. Now today the stabilizer bar broke. and this part cannot be replaced even after a direct call to Brookstone. A shame that a broken 20-cent plastic part puts this copter in the trash.
The support staff at Brookstone are very nice people - but they can do nothing because replacement parts simply are not available. And this copter costs way too much to buy a new one.
The stunt copter may be ok for an expert, experienced flier. But a child or beginner will be very disappointed. If some day a better selection of replacement parts were available, this might be more worthwhile.
I would recommend careful research - find a copter with MANY sources for inexpensive replacement parts - then buy that copter. You'll want one with several years of marketing so that these diverse parts suppliers are available. You'll find many good copters that are more stable in the air, and more durable. Make sure to get one with an internal gyroscope. Look for one with a METAL housing - they do exist. All the small breakable parts on the stunt copter are fragile plastic.

I have the AR Drone and AR Drone 2 they're awesome but not really a helis to learn. They fly by them selves. This heli is a true heli which I'm using to learn to fly. I have a hard time with helis and I've crashed this 100 times and it kips on ticking. A great learner in calm wind.

I got this helicopter as a gift, have had it for about a week now and it's held up quite well to my learning curve. I did learn to power down during the crash to minimize potential damage. The controls do take a bit of time to master but after a half dozen flights, it gets much easier. The battery life is low after a full charge, 5-8 minutes. The trim functions are helpful but the helicopter still wont hover in place or track without listing despite multiple adjustments.
Overall, I'm quite pleased with the helicopter. My wife can't wait for me to start playing with it outside....

This is a great RC Helicopter. I had one from Brookstone a few years ago and it doesn't do half the things that this one can do. I took it a gymnasium and did all kinds of amazing tricks, and I am far from a professional. I haven't tried to fly it outdoors yet, but when it warms up I will give it a try. The only con is the battery life, so I just bought more batteries--problem solved.

I use this product outside, and it is great for a first time helicopter, but finding a replacement for one of the gears is really hard, and I don't want to have to waste money on a new one if I can get a replacement

It is easy to fly but hard to control, will take a few flights to get so it stays in the air and you don't hit something, unless you have a wide open park to fly in. The wind does affect greatly, sometime to your flight advantage, be careful you don't end up in the neighbors' yard. This is much better than the early versions a few years ago. I have crashed the so many times ( hard!)I am surprised it is not broke, I bt the full warranty for $10, said they would replace it no matter how I broke it..

This is a great helicopter. I have a couple hours of air time in over all. It's great to relax with 3 channels, but be able to turn up the speed, knock up a channel and go outside. The stunt part is misleading but I knew when I saw it was 4 channels no stunts would be happening. Go 6 channel if you feel ready and want to do stunts.

This is the best 4 channel r/c helicopter I've ever owned. Very fast and maneuverable. Best to fly outdoors in no wind. Lost the last one when it flew too far away to see to control properly. Ordered a new one right away. Just too much fun!

This is a nice copter, however it breaks very easily. Rear propeller motor needs more protection because if the blade hits something on it's shaft, the motor will come apart rendering the copter useless. Had this happen after about a day of flying it. Returned for exchange and the blades on the brand new one broke after the first try. Tried replacing the blades but now all it does is fly up about 5 feet and nosedive into the ground. I'll return this one one more time but as the saying goes...3 strikes and you're out!

this helicopter is a good toy however when i first flew the helicopter it would always turn to the left, right-...doesnt fly straight up. So i went to the directions looking for some tips on how to adjust the trim, then i find out you have to adjust it using the remote. so i just barely fly the heli above the ground so i could adjust the trim according to where its moving...an hour later i get no where so i just fly my helicopter when it constantly turns different directions.
It would be very helpful if someone would wright a comment on how to adjust the trim correctly.
