Billups, a first round draft pick of the Boston Celtics in 1997, came into his own as an elite NBA point guard upon joining the Detroit Pistons in 2002. He helped Detroit win the 2004 NBA Finals in a stunning upset over the Los Angeles Lakers, four games to one. Billups averaged 21 points and 5.2 assists per game during the series to earn the NBA Finals MVP Award. A five-time NBA All Star, Billups is known throughout the league as "Mr. Big Shot" for his steady leadership and deadly clutch shooting.
