SUMMARY:

Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer, this position provides strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, implementation and coordination of the information and technology systems for Brookstone.

Responsible for the developing the information technology (IT) vision for the company. Management and Performance of the IT Department

Store Support – Malls and Airports
Responsible for management of the store WAN, WiFi, Registers, card readers, scanners, and all related POS equipment, Responsible for security compliance for all items attached to the store WAN. Security includes PCI compliance and standard retail data security governance to protect customer data. First line of contact for help desk technical related store requests.

e-Commerce
Responsible for software development, up time, and security of the eCommerce Brookstone sites. This includes inventory, pricing, and sales feeds for all eCommerce related integrations to Brookstone core systems as well as sustained performance, planning, and future growth.

Job: Marketing Specialist

A significant amount of work will be done within our email provider’s UI to be able to set up these campaigns and report on them.
  • Catalog support: Work with the Brookstone Assistant Marketing Manager as a backup for the catalog drivers’ circulation preparation. Will perform merge/purge QC, list pulls, and promotion management. Pull ad-hoc reports and perform analyses in support of the Assistant Marketing Manager.
  • Email File Health: Perform analysis of the email customer list to determine growth, attrition, response, and valuable segments of our house list. Analyze opt-out survey for trends. Support efforts to grow the list and onboard new members.

  • BA or BS Required with a minimum 3.0 GPA

Job: Assistant Marketing Manager

Catalog Mailing Preparation: Manage merge/purge process for catalog mailings to ensure timely in-home delivery. Work with outside list and mail processing vendors and analytics team to meet deadlines and troubleshoot and report variances. Make final selects out of merge and communicate printing instructions to the printer.

Email Address Acquisition and Retention: Grow the email file with responsive, profitable new email signups. Work with the store operations team to capture emails in stores, and work with website team to capture emails in various areas on the site. Monitor and report on file size and opt out survey. Find new ways to add value to the email subscriber to keep our customers from opting out.

REQUIREMENTS:

Essential:
  • 4 year college degree or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in email marketing.
  • Catalog mail preparation experience.
  • Strong computer skills are required; proficiency with MS Word and Excel is a must.

As Technical Writer, develop informative, easy-to-understand product Instruction Books and Quick Start guides that reinforce the Brookstone brand. Maintain and control all required changes to product Instruction Books and Quick Start Guides.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

NOTE: Regular and reliable attendance is a basic requirement of this position.
  • Writes consumer-friendly, brand-driven product Instruction Books for Brookstone product levels 2-4.
  • Collaborates with the Merchandising, OQ, and Legal teams, as well as the B-Labs Development Team to ensure product instructions are accurate, thorough, consistent and meet all Brookstone requirements, including any applicable regulatory requirements for content, product features, specifications.
  • Works with all appropriate Team members to ensure Instruction Books and Quick Start Guides are properly routed for approvals and maintained. Submit and review outside idea resources (e.g. Launch, MIT)

Required:
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a technical writer.
  • Ability to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional planning, organization and time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • College degree (BA in related field)
Desired:
  • Writing experience in the high-tech sector.
  • A College degree in English with coursework in Technical Writing or another technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with an art partner.

SUMMARY:

Manage and oversee all pay-per-click campaigns and optimize campaign performance to maximize return on ad spend, create revenue and expense forecast for all paid search programs, create and oversee all paid search reporting and analysis, manage other eCommerce marketing programs such as display retargeting, assist in researching and creating new partnership opportunities to drive additional revenue, recommend and test new marketing platforms or initiatives to drive profitability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage & Oversee Paid Search Accounts
    Optimize established paid search campaigns to meet or exceed program profit targets. Add new keywords and products to paid search programs based on market research and profit trends to drive profitability. Conduct A/B testing of landing pages, ad creative and bidding strategies to improve account click-through rate and overall revenue. Create reporting to review paid search program performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to drive maximum sales and profit for Brookstone. Oversee all optimizations and reporting performed by search marketing specialist and provide feedback on a daily basis.
  • Perform program analysis and reporting
    Using various Web analytics programs and reporting tools, perform comprehensive analysis to track and measure the performance of paid search and organic search programs. Present findings, provide regular updates, and make recommendations to improve program performance.
  • Assist with Partnerships
    Mine for potential new partnerships that will drive overall incremental revenue for the business and maintain high brand awareness among customer base. Finding potential partners that will allow us to tap into new verticals and explore new marketing technologies.
  • Test Marketing Vehicles
    Responsible for staying current on the latest trends and technologies in search marketing, recommending new vehicles or platforms, and testing new initiatives to drive profitability and gain early-mover advantage.
  • Support other eCommerce Marketing Programs
    Manage and/or support other eCommerce marketing programs as needed by the Director of Internet marketing.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-4 years hands on experience with proven Paid and Search Marketing results on top search engines. Third tiered engine experience a plus.
  • Experience utilizing online direct response best-practices to drive profitability.
  • Solid technological skills including excel, and comfortable with new emerging technologies.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills essential.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial team environment.
  • Experience analyzing/optimizing campaigns ensuring optimal ROI, including daily web analytics and conversion optimization
  • Using best practices to conduct extensive keyword research for growth and profitability
  • Landing page and ad copy testing, split testing, and optimization to deliver best possible click through rates and conversion rates
  • Ability to work autonomously with little supervision
  • Must be able to manage working on multiple projects, tasks and changing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Familiar with Google Adwords and Bing Editor
  • Google AdWords Certification is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with other online marketing initiatives is a plus (Affiliate Marketing, Market Places, Shopping/PLA, SEO, Facebook and Display Advertising, etc. )

Store Sales Manager
  • Responsible for managing one store.
  • Innovatively manages the Store by driving sales performance and controlling expenses.
  • Attracts and develops Store Management and Sales Associates who can successfully close sales with our Customers.
  • Previous retail management experience required, including responsibility for total Store operations.
Assistant Store Sales Manager
  • Assists the Store Sales Manager in all aspects of managing the Store and driving sales performance as detailed above.
  • Previous retail management experience required.
Second Assistant Store Sales Manager
  • This is an entry-level, non-exempt Management position.
  • Assists the Store Sales Management team in maximizing sales performance, both individually and through effectively directing the Sales Associates.
  • Previous retail experience, preferably with some supervisory experience.
Seasonal Manager and Seasonal Assistant Manager
  • During the second half of the year (generally, anytime between mid-Summer through December), Brookstone opens temporary/seasonal Stores throughout the country that close no later than during the week after December 25th.
  • These are hourly-paid positions.
  • The duties of the Seasonal Manager mirror those of the Assistant Store Sales Manager above, and the duties of the Seasonal Assistant Manager mirror those of the 2nd Assistant Store Sales Manager above.
Sales Associate
  • Able to actively and warmly engage the Customer and develop an instant rapport.
  • Meet individual sales goals by using in-depth product knowledge and selling skills.
  • Previous sales experience is helpful.
