For a while I wanted to connect a few rooms in my house to music, but didn't really want to deal with the wiring aspect. I found these online one day and it solved all my issues.Originally I had a Bose Sound dock in my kitchen, and an iPod dock connected to my surround sound system in the living room, then an additional dock in the basement. The problem was to have music in all 3 rooms I needed 3 iPods, and they would never be in sync. So often when people were over I just picked 1 room to have the music, and didn't have it playing in the others.The Sonos system fixed that issue though. My plan was to have an S5 in the kitchen, an S3 in the basement, then connect another unit to my surround system in the living room. The end result is now I can play music at different levels all from the same playlist at the same time in all 3 rooms. Eventually I will get 1 or 2 more units for the upstairs, and hook up outdoor speakers for another controllable area, but right now I have full sound on my first floor.I love that my wife or myself can control the system from our iPad or iPhone, and if we want control the different rooms separately it is not an issue. She will often have music in the kitchen going, while I am downstairs listening to a completely different playlist. The added bonus was the ability to stream in music from anywhere in the world. I was able to grab a few Greek radio stations and add them to her playlist, and she listens to them all the time. If anyone is interested in a Bose Soundock it will be on [@]soon enough.

This speaker is much better quality than others i have heard... we have them in two rooms and can't wait to get more! Extremely easy to connect to and have all of your online music (including pandora) available. Wonderful holiday gift... highly recommend!
