When I purchased it, I had not measured the back of the couch we had ordered. We received the covers only to find they would not cover the back of the couch all the way. We improvised by folding it lengthwise and draping it over one section of the couch. Our dog knows he is only allowed to sit on the covered portion, so it has worked out great.
