My wife wanted this for her birthday 6 months ago, but I was sure it would join the rice steamer & juicer collecting dust. Now, even though I was addicted to name brand sodas, I am a 100% converted "soda-by-me" person.
We also make soda with fruit juice for a light, refreshing drink without unnatural ingredients. This is a great sub for sodas/fruit juices for our kids who love making drinks themselves.
We are also being green by avoiding those 400+ bottles/cans we went through yearly and this uses NO power - cords or batteries!
All this and it costs a fraction of brand name soda from the store!!
The machine is idiot proof, very sturdy and the flavors are fantastic. I was surprised at the number of brand name substitutes. I also like that this company only sells Splenda products - no aspartame!
Finally, every guest in our home makes their own soda (any flavor they like). It is a HUGE hit. At least 10 previous guests have purchased this in the last 3 months and use it regularly. I highly recommend this item.

I bought this for my husband's birthday because he loves to drink soda. [...] I was also disappointed because all the flavors use Splenda. I knew the diet flavors had Splenda, but I wasn't aware the regular flavors do as well. Unfortunately, I don't like the taste of artificial sweetners and the flavors are decent, but not good enough to make me want to use Sodastream's flavorings. On the positive side, if you screw the cap on tight, it does keep the carbonation longer than a regular 2 liter bottle of soda. If I can find some other flavoring to use I would be pretty happy because the carbonator part works great.

I got this for my husband for Christmas. He uses it everyday for making soda water. He adds a little bit of lemon-lime flavor. This has saved money by making it ourselves rather than buying bottled water from the store. The flavored soda is not as good and has somewhat of an after taste.

I got this as a gift, and i JUST made some root beer (im drinking it right now)! i am excited to use this at a party and with friends too!!! the soda tastes like regular root beer and i love it!! It met my expectations!!

Looks attractive on counter. Use it every day and night. Don't even use the flavors - just cold seltzer water day and night. Keep one bottle in frig and one next to me all day (comes with two bottles).
Did try the Dr. ___ knock off and didn't like it but haven't tried any other flavors at all. Have squeezed a touch of lemon juice in one and liked it but really very happy with just tap water seltzered up. And I always hated tap water.
Someone commented they didn't know how they would replace the O2 - there was a sign at the store we bought it - can't give out names - that they refill the O2 - for 1/2 the cost of buying a replacement tank - can't say price.

Really love most of the flavors and you really can't tell that diet is diet. I even showed my 7 yr. old nephew how to use it. Didn't care for the MyWater flavor essence variety pack just to get the flavor of it I had to add the whole little bottle and don't care much for the taste. It taste more like seltzer water.
