I was excited when I saw this unit in the store because it seemed like the perfect desktop/workspace fan. The demo unit in the store was quiet as a whisper. I purchased two of these, one for home and one for work and was very disappointed at how loud the motor is on both of them. Even on low speed, the motor purrs unacceptably loudly for an office environment. The air movement and oscillation are good, if you can live with the noise.

I just bought two of these fans. I use one on my vanity to keep me cooler while I dry my hair. The other I use on my side of the bed on the night stand. My husband doesn't like the overhead ceiling fan on, this way we can both stay comfortable. This fan takes up hardly any space.
It is also great for us ladies and our hot flashes. All fans make some noise but this one is not bad at all. A little white noise helps me sleep.

This is a strong little fan, strong enough for a 15 x 12 room. Unfortunately I find it too loud to be with in the same room, even on the lowest setting. Bought it to circulate air through an oil fin radiator at night in a bedroom, which it will do well. Unfortunately will require sleeping with earplugs.
