I was excited when I saw this unit in the store because it seemed like the perfect desktop/workspace fan. The demo unit in the store was quiet as a whisper. I purchased two of these, one for home and one for work and was very disappointed at how loud the motor is on both of them. Even on low speed, the motor purrs unacceptably loudly for an office environment. The air movement and oscillation are good, if you can live with the noise.

Nice fan with 3 levels of strength. It was relatively quiet in the beginning, but got very noisy after awhile. The oscillation feature stopped after a few months

I saw this fan a few times in the store and it seemed to work very well, well the difference is the store/mall is very loud, once you get it home you can hear it in the next room. It's not broken either, thats just how loud it is when its on high, high seems to be the only useful setting. Not very impressed. Guess a decent small desk fan isn't in my cards :(

I just bought two of these fans. I use one on my vanity to keep me cooler while I dry my hair. The other I use on my side of the bed on the night stand. My husband doesn't like the overhead ceiling fan on, this way we can both stay comfortable. This fan takes up hardly any space.
It is also great for us ladies and our hot flashes. All fans make some noise but this one is not bad at all. A little white noise helps me sleep.
