My old mattress protector was literally ripping all over, so it was time to buy a new one. I only ended up picking this Sleep Smart one only because there was a sale going on of where I could get a free 2-pack of Better Than Down Pillows. So, I wasn't expecting much, but this mattress protector is wonderful! It can stretch comfortably around your mattress, stays put. Also, it's put together very well and is hard to rip, unlike regular protectors. And the best part, that the description doesn't explain much about is the polyester fill that provides some cushioning on top. This fill makes this a 2-in-1 product; a great mattress protector with stretchable side panels AND a mattress pad! No, it is not like a typical mattress topper with a thick layer of memory foam, but it has a very comfortable top layer that you can consider to be a mini-mattress pad/overlay/topper.
