I am a pilot who travels internationally 120-140 days/year, and I can say that this combination of format, detailed maps, great features(built-in compass and pen) and its compact size make this an incredible buy for the novice traveler to the very seasoned pro. I own 13 books for various cities and have bought them for friends going on their "big" vacation. Friends have always raved about how maps and info were great! The compass feature really helps when you are walking around all those narrow, old city streets that seem to go in all directions.

These books are the best local guides we've found. They make it easy to navigate foreign cities and the maps have a unique 'pop out' style that easily opens and closes. The additional pen and compass make a traveler a pro even if he/she is new to the area. I wish they made these for more cities! The size is perfect and can fit in a man's pocket or women's purse, making it easier to carry than larger guide books.

My Husband and I loved this little pocket guide when we were in Italy. It was really small so you were a little inconspicuous than you would be folding out a big map and very light to carry. If you weren't sure of your direction it has a compass and it provides you with basic words and phrases to use when you are out and about to help you get around. The pen also has a light at the end and was useful in one of the hotels that had a dim hallway, so we could get into our room.

This product is absolutely great! I'm a native NY and this book has a bunch of great references inside including subway map, museums, theaters, parks, street indexes, and even includes a compass, a pen, and an area to right notes. This an indispensible tool for people who live in the city and especially for those visiting. I travel a lot and am planning on buying several other city maps for myself as well as gifts for friends traveling abroad.
