Excellent quality mat. No "spikes" like vinyl mats. Looks like a piece of fine furniture. Won't bend or crack like cheap mats. Just wish it was a bit larger from front to back. Good value received!

If your office chair is on soft carpeting, this is the mat to get. While plastic mats get those dimples under the wheels, this mat stays smooth and flat. My chair finally rolls freely. I weigh a bit under 140 lbs. and this mat does not flex or buckle at all, even near the edges. The medium size mat is large enough for me to move around my home office/desk comfortably and the oak finish goes with standard oak bookcases. I tried three different thick plastic mats (even tried stacking them), but it took this mat to give me a solid base on the soft carpeting.

Used exactly for its intended purpose, to be able to roll an office chair easily without damaging carpet/floor. Unlike the plastic ones, this looks like a piece of furniture. Although I have only had it a week, I'll bet (due to the quality build) it won't crack like the plastic ones. Mat may seem a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. One criticism: Dimensions were incorrectly posted. I called Brookstone to advise. Customer Service was very courteous. Perhaps they WILL listen and double-check with the vendor on the dimensions. I measured dimensions at 42" (side to side) x 47" (lip to end). The description was 47" x 37". I wish it was 47 inches wide, as stated, rather than the 42 inches I received. Where the 37" comes from is anybody's guess. Still highly recommended.
