It's pretty easy to use right out of the box.. just sling it over a chair and plug it in! However, don't be disappointed if putting it on a very small chair... the bottom seat is pretty wide so measure to ensure no disappointment. You can certainly feel the motorized "hands" up and down your back.. you can set from a few styles but can only tweek area in one mode. However, you can set it to full, upper or lower back easily. Only downside is that it doesn't go high enough ot the neck area but great on the shoulder blades and lower back.

I've had this for about a week and love it. Initially I couldn't find a good place to set it up. I tried it on my couch and just couldn't get the right feel. Finally put it in my home office chair (high back) and viola, it worked perfectly. This thing is amazing, especially the "Auto" program setting. When it's done, the stress in my back is gone. My only complaint is that it doesn't hit the top of my shoulder and neck, so when I'm done, those areas feel stressed compared to the rest of my back. I guess I'm going to have to buy the Shihatsu pillow!! This does take a little getting used to, it's intense, but once you learn to relax, you will be hooked!

I bought this product for my wife who has back problems. She was told she needed massage therapy 2 times per week. This obviously will not replace a therapist but it comes close. I let my father us it after a round of golf and now I have to take him to Brookstone so he can buy one too.

i bought this as a birthday present for my dad since he has chronic back pain. this little pad is easy to move around the house and really helps to relieve the stress on his back at the end of the day. however, my mom is a small lady and the pressure is a bit too much for her and causes some discomfort. i would recommend this for someone who likes more pressure in their massages. overall a great buy.
