We tried the Ionosphere brand afte that (bought at BJ's), because it was much cheaper, but we got what we paid for... died after less than 6 months. This new one does not swivel from side to side as the old one did, meaning it takes slightly less floor space, and does not drive my cats nuts. Cleaning is even easier, in that the filters simply lift out the top, and can now even go into the dishwasher.
