This is a beautiful gate! I have 3 dogs (1 small and 2 large)who always run to the front windows to watch people walking by. They tore up the wood surrounding the windows! I put the gate at the entranceway of the entrance hall. They no longer even try to get to the windows.

Attractive pet gate. Keeps small dogs fenced in, but you can easily step over gate. Use to keep dog on front porch.

The photo makes the gate appear much larger thanb it really is. I just installed it and will let everyone know in a week or so if it does the job. Very easy assembly and looks great

I love the look of this gate. With no marks on my wood trim. The problem is that if you trip stepping over it (and someone will eventually if you keep it up everyday) it breaks apart. I have had mine less than a year and it will be in the trash this weekend. The wood cracks very easily.

To keep dog in kitchen at night or during day when we are away from home (or want to keep him away from the cat's food.) The cat leaps right over, so it is no deterrent for her. Definitely a nice looking product. More like a piece of furniture than like the child safety gates of old.

I bought the freestanding pet gate (small) to use when I bring my dog to work. I put it in my cubicle doorway backwards, so that my dog can see what's going on up and down the hallway, yet still be confined by the gate. I noted "difficult to transport" simply because it comes apart in four pieces of different sizes. Each one is easy to move, but they slide when you try to pick them all up.

The only negative is that the assembly instructions were far more complicated than they needed to be. Throw away the instructions and look at the picture.

I have short dogs and this gate is very effective, easy to step over and looks tremendously better than the baby gate that I was using. I'm not sure I'd recommend this for taller dogs. It's easy to move and doesn't mar the woodwork. Very, very nice.

The only drawback to this item is that smart dogs might be able to slide/push the gate out of the way with their nose. But we were able to overcome this with just a little adjustment in how we placed the gate in the entryway. Otherwise a very attractive, effective way to keep our dog out of the living room and off the sofa!

The freestanding pet gate was easy to put up. It was also easy to move from room to room. I used it to keep my puppy away from the Christmas tree this year, and it work great.

My daughter asked for this for a Christmas present. The above comments are based on my conversations with her. The great things about the gate is the flexibilty for use for she and her dogs both at home and for use at other peoples home when she travels.

This gate allows you to effectively block an entrance without damaging the walls. I have a 50 lb. bulldog that does not jump or maneuver the gate whatsoever. A great buy that looks great too!

It was surprisingly perfect for us - we need to keep the dog out of certain rooms yet are too lazy to want to move it, so we step over it. Our dog is large, but won't push at the gate when we tell him not to, so it works for us.

I bought this pet gate as a gift for boss's family and they loved it! It works equally well for small puppy that can now see through bars (and doesn't whine as much) and big dog who respects it. Best of all, it is very nice looking consistent with their beautiful home.

- Well Constructed: the wood frame and metal bars are well constructed
- Stable: after assembly the gate is very stiff and stable
- Easy to Assemble: you need a screwdriver to assemble the gate but it's very straightforward if you layout all the pieces before you assemble it

Cons:

- Short Height: the picture implies that the gate is tall, but this is not the case. The gate is 20 inches tall and that's not very much. Any cat can easily leap over the gate and medium to large dogs can hurdle the gate
- Need Tools to Change Width: the description says the gate can be adjusted (extended) to fit varying widths. While this is true, I expected it would be adjustable without tools (like a baby gate) but you need a screwdriver to adjust the width of this gate which is not something you can do on the fly when moving the gate from one doorway to another.

This is the best gate on the market! It goes with my decor so well, that I've been asked if it's custom made. Easy to move from place to place too. Highly recommend if you need to keep pets out of an area.

This gate is great for blocking areas for ferrets as the gate has less than 2 inch gaps preventing climbing. I don't recommend this for dogs as it could be easily jumped or moved."adjustable" should be better clarified. The gate size can be adjusted, however it is not instantaneous and requires tools.

Both large dogs could easily jump the gate. Only one has done so, but will not do it unless coaxed to do so. Keeps the dogs where they are supposed to be.

This is a pet gate that is functional yet makes a statement. We chose the larger size so that we can use it in more than one area of our home. We've also had guests compliment on the appearance of the gate so we're not concerned about keeping it out when entertaining. So far, it's working great!

We use this gate to keep our little poodle out of the living room. Our opening is 72". We don't attach both sides together so that we can open one side to enter. Nice construction and finish.

No more tripping over safety gates that were too tall. The height is perfect....easy to get over everytime. Also, the gate looks upscale so it won't make your decor look trashy. I love it.

This looks so much better than plastic alternatives and can easily be moved if one does not want to go over gate. My old cats don't jump over it so it works out great for keeping them off the new carpet!

My 15 year old dog insisted on going up and down the stairs but I am no longer sure of her ability to do so due to arthritis. I use it for her safety to keep her from using the stairs without our supervision.
I like the styling, portability and sturdiness.

Great looking, high quality product. Instructions not the best. Not tall enough for bigger dogs though. Perfect size to step over. Received the large gate a couple of days ago and ordering the small gate today.

We use the dog gate to keep our 3 dogs out of the living room when not supervised. It is much more attractive than the "baby gates" we were using and it's profile and styling actually complement our decor. The height is good for our smaller dogs, but a taller version would be great for larger breeds.
