This is a substantial, relatively heavy lap desk. The storage compartment is quite useful. The padding is soft, and it provides a very stable surface. I like the cup holder. The top is wide enough for both my (small) laptop and a mouse. However, I wish it were just an inch or two less wide; it's too big to use comfortably in our airchairs. It's great for the sofa. My biggest complaint, however, is the lamp, which is considerably underpowered, and requires four D batteries, adding to the weight. The lamp is a great idea, poorly executed. How about a halogen light, like in my book light, or like I can plug into my computer's USB port?

My husband uses this product for his recliner, as he is disabled and he is able to use his computer and read more comfortably with ease of pain. He is able to take it on trips with him and be comfortable while traveling. We love the fluffy lap of the lap desk and the light allows us to read even at night while the other might be sleeping. We can take it to motels with us or over to our parents home and continue to be comfortable if something needs to be looked up on the computer or if we want to read. It is especially good for the disabled person. What a wonderful product this has been for my husband and it is light enough for him to carry from room to room if need be. Nothing is wrong with this product.

I purchased this item for my husband as a gift. He enjoys playing games or reading from his laptop in the evenings from bed. This lap desk makes using his laptop computer more comfortable from bed, in a chair or traveling on road trips. He loves the storage space and the cup holder. In addition he is a huge fan of the comfort foam padding on the bottom. It is very comfortable. I am quite pleased with the quality and overall performance.

I received this desk as a gift and it helps me stay organized. The storage area is quite large and the writing surface is sufficient. It is a bit heavy to carry but doesn't bother me when I am using it. The batteries are heavy themselves and add to the weight.

This is a great tool for the lap top user. It's like an office on the go, with space for everything from pens and paper to room for your electrical connection eqipment. The cushion on the bottom gives firm softness for your lap, and the top has a firm non-sliding surface. This product allows me to catch up on work late at night while sitting in bed. This is often the only time I have with my wife throughout the day, so it is nice to be able to sit there with her yet still get some work done. Without this, the computer heat is too much to handle for long periods of time.

Lapdesk appears to be well-made, but there are two negatives I noticed.

First, the light doesn't have a switch that you can flip on our off. It turns on automatically when you remove it from the slot that it rests in. This is good in theory, but the light would not secure tightly in its slot so the light would always remain on.

Secondly, the cup holder is too small to be practical. It is wide enough for a children's cup or a traveler's mug with a narrow bottom, but nothing else would fit.

This is an attractive lap desk, but is not practical for a laptop computer. The heat from my laptop caused the non-skid surface of the desk to bubble.

I purchased two of these lapdesks for my parents for Christmas. My father finds it most excellent to support his laptop computer as well as work his Suduko puzzles. My mother likes it for reading, writing, and small projects. One night when their power was out, they pulled out the lapdesks and could read and do Suduko. They are comfortable to use, easy to store when not in use. It's a great deal!

I use it to write xmas cards, so its great that it has ample room and the underneath space for envelopes, special pens, stickers and stamps.
I did need to create a space under the bed to store it, Im greatful for the size, but it can be difficult to store

I bought this item to use in my bed and it is very heavy on my legs. I lose feeling in my feet because it's just so heavy! The light is very, very dim and you have to bring it within an inch or so of the paperwork to see.

I used this product after I had surgery. It was good as a snack table as well as a writing table. It was a bit heavy though. Perhaps you could reduce some of the storage capability. The cushioned bottom was comfortable. The shape of the hard surface was user friendly. A smaller light would be OK and not add to the overall weight of the product.
