This is great! I had it at work at first, but the keyboard tray is too low, so my legs hit it. It's at home under my desk now and it's great! So easy to set up and use, and you really get a great workout! It's quiet and well worth the money, for sure. [...] My 5-yr-old son loves it, too! :)

Having the machine out all the time, I can use it for several short periods on days when a longer exercise routine isn't possible. To eliminate any possible movement or instability, I placed the machine on a leftover piece of rubber rug pad. Nothing shifts around!

Good for small apartment
By Amber from NH on 2/21/2008
Pros:
Easy To Adjust, Easy To Use
Cons:
Uncomfortable, Unstable
Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:
Weekend Warrior
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I got this because I have no room in my apartment for any exercise equipment and wanted something I could do while reading or watching TV instead of workout DVDs all the time. It is small and easy to store. I use it with a normal-sized folding chair, and I set it up on a yoga mat to keep it from sliding.
The straps on the pedals are too small (it's a snug fit with shoes on and I'm a women's 9). They should be adjustable, and perhaps with bigger pedals overall. I can't see how a man would use this. Also, when I use it for longer than 30 min, it starts to squeak loudly (instead of the usual moderately-loud swishing belt noise) and the metal heats up... I'm afraid of breaking it. The manual has nothing about maintenence (am I supposed to oil it? Should I not oil it?) aside from how to change the batteries.
Overall, good for someone who has no other choice due to space; but if I had room for a piece of normal sized exercise equipment, I'd ditch this little guy in a heartbeat.

I'm one of those people with joint problems whose doctor recommends peforming cycling motions against resistance to maintain joint lubrication. I got this unit to make sure I had no excuse not to do that, and it fits that bill just fine.
The unit is small enough to sit in the corner of my office or go with my in my camper, and functional enough to do what I need.
A few cautions:
- The front bar does need to brace against something. A wall works best.
- You can't use it in a chair with wheels unless you can lock them (duh!)
- It looks like you could set this under your desk, but that's not as easy as it sounds. Chair height, angle of attach and a few other variables have to be set up just right.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my 91 year old grandfather who was recoving this winter from a major surgery. He likes it because he can use it for both his arms and his legs to regain his strength. My grandmother likes it because it doesn't take up a lot of space in the living room. The only pitfall was that it tended to skid across the floor on the carpet. We bought a rubber mat and all was fine after that. It was a real hit at Christmas!

While in physical therapy, the greatest benefit came from use of the arm bike, as I was unable to use a regular stationary bike for some time. This device is a combination of both for a price I can easily afford. It is well designed for comfort and use. The only drawback so far is that it does not anchor well on the floor. It needs some type of rubberized cleat that grips carpet or hard floor. Instead it slides away easily. Other than that, it is very helpful to me.
