My boyfriend and I each received one of these as a holiday gift at the end of 2007. We each began using them, mostly for the thermometer and clock functions, and we absolutely loved them. They make a great travel alarm clock. You can change the functions to turn off the beeps or lock it on a specific function. Unfortunately, I tried to set the alarm on mine last night and it let out a horrid beep and died, in spite of my attempts to change the batteries and fiddle with the reset button. I had never dropped it or abused it in any way. So, it's good for about a year and half. I'd love to replace it, but there are enough cheap, disposable plastic gadgets in the world already. I'll miss you, Bob clock!

the name is misleading! the clock does not bob by itself and the alarm is not loud enough! and tough backlight can not be turned off when viewing under a desk lamp. I think I will change it for something more trendy like a rooster! this makes a good kitchen clock with it's "egg" timer but not good enough as a depressador!

The touch function is fine, but you end up changing mode all the time, and the beep is annoying. Then without the touch function turned on, you must find the mode button on the back of the device to switch from time to temp etc. Overall though it is a nice option for a travel clock or bedside clock.

I had him for about a year and i thought it was the cutest thing ever! he worked really well and was very easy to use! fun too because you just touch the top and it lights up pretty colors and you can view all sorts of things. Like temp, time, alarm, and i cant remember the rest. I have one, both of my sisters have them, and I got one for my friend for her birthday. Im 13 by the way. But about a month ago, I dropped it and it didnt even like crack or anything, it just stopped working. The touch sensor didnt work, the buttons barely worked, the colorful lights stopped working, and the letters were veryyyy light grey. It broke. But I am about to buy another because i loved it soo much =]

This product worked for about three months, then started flashing color nonstop until it simply died. Changed the battery, and no more color, and everything was difficult to reprogram. VERY disappointing.

its the cutest clock ive ever owned! it has really great functions that you wouldnt expect from something so small. i use the clock and the alarm every day, but there are those moments when you need to time yourself or you have to find the date quick or you have to know the temperature. bob is so useful because its ready for every situation and because its so small, i carry it with me through the house so theres no running around looking for it.

Definitely need to read the instructions with this lil guy. It often wobbles and jets past the display screen you are looking for. Tough to get it to settle on one screen. But once he's set, it's a cute fun product.

Q: I trashed the instructions. How do you turn off the alarm on a Brookstone "Bob" 5 in 1 clock?

A: All you do is hold either the up or down arrow for 2 seconds to toggle the alarm on and off. Must be on Alarm set mode. You'll see the little alarm clock disappear and reappear on the screen.

As stated, broke within 4 months. The thermometer was never accurate to being with, but that's fine since I used it mainly for the time and the alarm. However, those functions were no longer usable by the end of the 4th month, so I just threw the clock away. It's pretty sensitive to the touch (can be good or bad, depends). It used 3 AAA batteries and I had to change the batteries every 4 weeks or so.

The clock beeps everytime you change the mode and the screen only displays one piece of info at a time (ex. you have to change the mode in order to see the date, but you cant see the date and time at the same time).
Other that that, the clock works very well. I would recommend this product to all of my friends. Its very easy to use and has a very convenient blacklight.

Best clock ever. I'd say I enjoy waking up in the morning now with the Bob clock, but that would be a lie. It is a more effective alarm, though, because the light that accompanies the sound makes it more likely that I actually get up instead of hitting snooze. However, the Bob does have a snooze function for my really tough mornings.

I found the instructions a bit obtuse. The operation is a little complicated. You have to remove the cover to change the automatic changing between functions. Having said that, it's nice to have the all the functions there and for the price a good deal.

We ordered this so we would know the temperature in our kid's rooms (as temperatures vary by room pretty drastically in our house). The only problem we have with it is that our kids think it is the greatest "toy" ever. It beeps when you touch it (or hold it), so they have great fun with it.

I purchased these as gifts for my children. They love the whimsical design, which reminds of a Weeble Wobble from my own childhood. The clock is cute and functional, at a great price.

My son wishes it had a remote thermometer, so that it would also provide outdoor temperature. Alarm is not very audible, so it may not wake up a "sound" sleeper. It would be cool if they could make a big "Bob" that had additional functions of RSS, Podcast abilities and external speaker connectivity.

I use this clock as a desk clock and also as a travel alarm clock. I got my dad one for Christmas, and he uses it for the same purposes and also as a timer in the kitchen. The clock comes in a variety of colors and is very compact. The only problem with this item is that the alarm may not be loud enough to wake deep sleepers. Overall, a great product!

if you want something that tells time, date, temperature, and you can use as an alarm or timer...oh, and you want it cheap... go for the bob-wobbler. The design is unique, but honestly after you wobble it a couple of times it will become an afterthought to the functions it is intended to perform. The different colors are unique and the timer and alarm functions are simple to learn and use. Overall a good product!

I bought BOB for my teenage son for Christmas, but secretly I hoped he would let me use it in the kitchen as a timer..... He had a little difficulty initially figuring it's programming out (he won't use instructions), but it worked great in the kitchen and he finally took it up to his room and loves it (as long as it doesn't get lost in his room). - I still ask to use it in the kitchen periodically.....

I am a clock watcher when I sleep, so this is perfect. You have to actually touch it to have it light up. The alarm doesn't seem that loud, but it wakes you gently, without startling you awake. It's loud enough to wake you up. In order to snooze, all you have to do is touch it. The snooze is quite short though. 5 min. or so? It takes a few minutes to figure out setting it, but not bad at all. LOVE LOVE LOVE It, so much so, that I bought one for each member of my family. They love it too!

We got this at a christmas party and both myself and my husband knew we would never use it so we re-gifted it to my brother to use at work. The only bad thing about it was the alarm kept going off. We had no clue what the noise was. We searched around the house looking for where the noise came from and finally found it coming from the clock. I shut it off and thought i had solved the problem... i was wrong lol. My brother says it goes off randomly. He will have to read the instructions to figure that one out lol.

I love this thing. I currently have two of them. One is used for a clock next to the bed, the other is used as a tea timer. Both uses work flawlessly with this little thing. The only down side is that the touch sensor is a little off, but for the price, who cares? Just make sure that you turn the "mode lock" on!

This is a very cute little clock, I purchased two for gifts, but then my daughter wanted one, so I purchased a few more. The only problem I had with this was it didn't change displays easily, we had to pick up the clock and give it a shake to get it to change from time-date-etc. otherwise, it was cute and practical.

The thing I liked the most about this item is that you don't have to actually push any button to turn off the alarm, instead you just kind of tap the top. Found it really convenient.
However, I would prefer the clock carry more music choices as the alarm alert. Also prefer it to display different colors while touching it instead of same color with same function display.

This is a cool product none the less, but a few things I do not like about that product are that when you push it to wobble it to get the time, it falls forward, instead of backwards, so you cant read the time. You have to press the buttons in the back to change the functions, so its a little more work that I first thought when I read the description, and the fact that it takes three batteries was inconvienient. I like each of the light up features and different colors for each.

I love that this clock doesn't display until touched. I have a bad habit of looking at the clock during the night and this helps. It's nice that you can just touch it and it lights up. It wobbles, so it doesn't tip over. It has a quiet alarm that is sure to wake, but doesn't jar you awake. I liked it so much I bought one for each family member.

I bought this clock because it is called "Bob" which is my deceased father's name. Please don't think that I'm morbid; indeed, there seems to be a certain obsession in U.S. culture with the name "Bob", and I do get a kick out of it. This little clock is a lot of fun. It reminds me of the Weebles of my childhood: Weebles wobble but they don't fall down! The features are superb: each mode is color-coded, meaning that one has a clue to where one might be by the color of the screen alone! The egg-shaped clock stays upright even when the top is tapped to enter snooze mode. I'm in love with my little "Bob" clock. My only complaint is that the buttons could be a little simpler when it comes to setting. It is easy to make errors.

Bob is a cute idea. It shows time, has a digital timer, a thermometer, and acts as an alarm clock. I use it by my side of the bed so that I can see the time in the middle of the night. The only problem was that when I touched the clock to activate the display, Bob would switch functions. This is solved by a switch underneath, so it isn't a major problem.
