Love it. It's not hard to set at all if you actually read the manual, not sure what the people are complaining about. And the backlit numbers screen is useful, it is NOT a problem like some reviews said here, as you CAN turn it on/off easily by holding down the snoose button - very useful for looking up what time it is in the middle of the night. The only complaint is that it always asks to put my phone in airplane mode and then starts playing music as soon as i dock the phone. That is annoying and wakes up my gf, but i've learned to push the power button right after i dock, which prevents that from happening. Bottom line is though, it works great as a clock, as an alarm clock, and has simply amazing sound for an alarmclock speaker (I'm an audiophile).

Looks great, is compact and well thought out. However, the devil is in the details. Like most, I find the display way too bright to leave on at night (if I want to sleep!), the display needs a variable dimmer rather than the choice of really bright and blinding light. (Yes, I do know that you can choose display off, which is what it is set on most of the time.) In alarm mode, whether in buzzer, radio, or iPod mode, the sound ramps up from whatever level you last listened to music, to a level so loud that you will make you jump out of bed! This ramp up period is just a matter of a few seconds and is not adjustible. It would be better if you could allow the wake up volume to be at a level that you are able to preset.

I bought one in Miami airport before travelling to Spain. I plugged it at home, and everything works fine except the iPod dock. No music comes out. Too bad,... there are cheaper radio alarm clocks out there...[...] I'm really dissapointed.

I just bought this dock yesterday and I must say I am impressed by the amount of sound coming from this small unit. I wish the bass was a bit more rich. There are no radio presets so basically (I'm assuming that even with a radio function, this alarm clock was meant for those using their iPods for music/alarm). A remote would be useful to control the songs on the iPod from across the room instead of doing it manually each time. The light is bright even on dim, but I guess it will take some time to adjust. Overall it's just a sleek alarm clock. Used it as a conversation starter today too!

I was very excited about this device - attractive, small footprint, ipod and radio alarm capability. But unfortunately it gets the worst reception of any radio I've ever seen. Generally I get very good reception in my apartment (top floor, external wall, downtown Boston), but the FM tuner on the cube was only capable of picking up two stations! Most of the stations had intense static and interference with multiple stations. Plugging in the FM antenna and moving it all around didn't help.

I thought my unit might be defective so I took it back to the store and exchanged it, but the second one is exactly the same. I should have known - it had terrible reception in the stores. But in both stores the salesperson gave me the same line about how "nothing gets good reception in this mall." Huge disappointment. Might be OK if just using for iPod (I didn't even try that), but radio is no good.

I'm back to my ancient analog clock radio with no external antenna that gets 15 or 20 stations beautifully.

This is a nice clock. The only visible when you want it display is great for those of us that like a very dark bedroom.

However, the non-adjustable feature that automatically starts playing music when you plug in your iPod (or iPhone in our case) is a mistake. Clearly you only hire single engineers. Otherwise it might have occured to someboody that one half of a couple might go to bed a a different time than the other and might not appreciate the blast of sound that accompanies their partner plugging in their iDevice.

My wife is pretty fast with the pause button now, but I am still awakened now and then as she plugs in before going to bed. At least make it possible to turn off the auto start feature. This is a clock, there are more reasons to plug your iPod in than just to listen to music.

I got this because I had a gift card from Brookstone, and needed something for radio\ipod in the garage. It looks pretty cool, I guess, but the clock is a pain. I have a Sony dock\clock radio in the kitchen that was the same price, and has much better sound. My Altec Lansing dock is much smaller, and has the best sound of the three. I guess if I had to get soething from Brookstone, I would get this again, but if I had money to spend I would go elsewhere.

I shopped around a lot before purchasing this product. It did take me a bit to figure out how to set time functions though. The only other con would be that for someone like me that has a hard time waking up, the snooze will only go off 6 times. On the plus side, you can shut off the display if it's too bright and it will turn on when the alarm sounds. Excellent sound quality. Surprising even. Love that it charges my Ipod, and that it has sleep to function. Overall a great buy.

Pros: Great design, great sound. I looked for quite a while to find an iPod docking station that was smaller and not bulky and weird-looking on my nightstand.

Cons: I get major interference with my iPhone, even if I put it in "airplane" mode. This was the primary reason I got this, so that part has been dissapointing. It is also very, very bright. Thankfully it has a bright, dim, and then a third option where you can turn the clock off completely. I leave it that way all the time, which can be irritating if I just want to take a quick look to see the time. The third con I have is that while the radio stations come in well, there are no preset buttons. You just have to put it on one radio station and leave it there, or manually scroll through to get to the next one. My two favorite stations aren't near each other, so that's irritating as well.

In concept this product is a great idea but it fails in basic execution. It is a shame because the sound quality is REALLY good....BEST in class in fact. Then you get it into your bedroom and the light (on dim setting) is much too bright and the controls, even during the day with full brain in action are IMPOSSIBLE to understand....one of the worst if not the worst clock radio type products that I have experienced in this regard. Not the best example of a product from Brookstone I think!

My daughter uses this in her bedroom as her alarm clock. The LED readout is not adjustable and so bright that she has to turn it away from her at night. Also, when you put the Ipod in the dock so you can wake up to it in the am you have to select the song and press power off. If you just press pause on the Ipod you get a fairly loud hum from the speakers. She initially gave up on using it to wake up to. I saw it sitting next to the dock and I spent the time to figure out the on/off switch. Pretty expensive and not very intuitive there are better products out there such as the iHome iH4P which my other daughter has and it is great and half the price.

This is a great alarm clock. The display is bright at night, but I usually turn the display off. Although it just says for iPods it also charges and plays music from my iPhone which is awesome!

I use this product as my bedroom alarm clock, radio, and music player. The sound is amazing even though it comes from such a small device and it works with my iPod flawlessly. My favorite part about it though is the glow through clock display which is so cool and very fresh looking.

Great Sound for such a small little product. The LED is too bright so I keep it off. The alarm can be set to Buzzer, iPod or Radio.

This is a great little product with great sound. The time display is pretty cool, but a little bit too bright...so I keep it off. I primarily use it as a wake up clock with the ipod to wake up to my music.

I bought this clock for my husband for Christmas after we saw similar clocks in a hotel room. He's new to the iPod but loves having the opportunity to listen to it on speakers. It was a unique design and compact. The sound is very good.

The iDesign Cube Clock has a very sleek and modern design that goes great with bedrooms, kitchens or a home office area. The display is very clear and can be adjusted according to brightness. The sound quality is amazing considering how small the speakers are- it's great! Love that it charges and plays all ipods and some MP3 players and is also an alarm clock and radio. All in one device is a great buy!

I love the compact size and the great sound.If light bothers you when sleeping, it could use dimmer light on the clock. You can,however,turn the numbers completely off without deactivating the alarm.

I bought this for my boyfriend and he loves it! The display is very clear and large but his only complaint is that it's so bright. If only it could have a dimming feature for when you're ready to go to bed, then it would be perfect.

This really is the best overall iPod clock radio available anywhere. I had been looking for something small but with good sound and clock-radio functionality for my nightstand. This is all of those things and more--the quality and sound for its size and price is really exceptional. The only thing really missing is radio presets... and the fact that iPhone users can't get full functionality although it will play. Bottom line: you won't find a comparable product anywhere else (at least I couldn't find one).
