I work at Brookstone and use the jewelry cleaner when I happen to be wearing jewelry. It makes my diamonds sparkle like new, and you can tell it really works. I saw some people mentioned their water got murky-looking, and therefore didn't like the product. Well, big surprise, you DO have to change the water periodically, otherwise it's not going to clean your jewelry as well. I highly recommend this product.

Also, check out the NEW Ultrasonic Jewelry/DVD Cleaner. Very similar, but you can fit DVD's in there too. Awesome!

We received a gift card to Brookstone but who needs 90% of the stuff on here? My mother has an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and swears by it, so purchased this, expecting it to do nothing. I was pleasantly surprised that my diamonds came out sparkling. Of course, having your rings professionally cleaned a couple of times a year is a great idea, but to get off the daily dust and soap and lotion, this works great. My husband uses it for his wedding ring and glasses, too. We tuck it under the cabinet in the bathroom. I think it is worth it.

The automatic lid opener doesn't function, and I have to pry it open each time I want to open the lid. I use this several times each day, so that has become quite a nuisance. I had an older model with a manual lid that worked fine. I would recommend the older model, but not this newer one with the automatic lid.

This works wonderfully as a jewelry cleaner, however the button to open it broke within two uses. I live hours from the nearest Brookstone store so I use a butter knife to pop open the top to use this machine. My jewelry looks wonderful though.

I was VERY excited to see such an attractive jewelry cleaner with such promising quality. I was not as thrilled as i hoped to be with how clean my jewelry got, however, after running my rings 2-3 times i could definitely see a difference. I have a high standard of sparkle that I like to see, so I have concluded that i think my rings really needed a True professional clean to REALLY get them to sparkle and then use this product to maintain the cleanliness. It's the best home product for the price that i have seen.

Works great! If ring has caked on crud you have to run it twice and after the first time clean up the loosened crud with a tooth brush, then run again. If it only needs a minor cleaning the ring turns out great the first time. Makes the diamonds shine!

I'm not sure how well this product really cleaned. If you only have visible clumps of dirt, it will remove those, but dried on lotion, grease smears, etc. didn't seem to come off. I expected sparkling clean jewelry and was disapointed. Maybe if it used a solvent to remove grease and lotion? the plain water didnt' do that much.

YOu also have to lift up the entire unit to dump the old water out. I originally bought this for my grandmother and she wouldn't be able to do that. It would be nice if it had a removeable container to dump the water or refill it, but it doesn't. You have to unplug the unit and carry it to the sink and dump out.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife but I have used it on my Skagen mesh watch bands just as much as she has on her jewelry. It's great to see all the dirt that has been removed when you take the items out. The timer and overall interface are easy to use. I ended up cleaning my watch bands a few times until the water was clear. I looked at a lot of brands and styles of jewelry cleaners and feel I made a good decision with this one. It isn't going to make your jewelry shine like a jeweler could, but with simple water and ultrasonics, it will take the dirt away easily.

I needed something to clean my jewelry, necklaces, engagement ring, etc. Using tap water and pressing a button sounded much more attractive than dipping in chemical or rubbing (forever!) with special clothes...well, it did not work at all. With my ring, I must have run the machine at least half a dozen times before I saw any sign that it was making a difference. With my tarnished sterling silver necklace, forget it. More than a dozen times, and it did not make a difference.

I purchased this for my wife for Christmas and I must say that I was quite impressed with the outcome. We had bought anniversary rings for each other and they were a bit grimy from lying around so we threw them in there and they shined as if we had gotten them professionally done. We've used it for our other jewelry too and we both have no complaints. The only word of caution is that I have read that you should not overuse the product as it can cause diamonds and other stones to come loose.

I received this cleaner as a christmas gift. It works fine on gold and diamonds, but I have a lot of emerald jewelry, which you can't use this cleaner on. Also I have a good bit of sterling silver, and all this does is tarnish the silver. You are better off using a chemical silver cleaner or a jewelry polish cloth. Overall it is OK, but I would rather take my stuff to the jewelry store, most of it has to go there anyway since this cleaner will not work on it.

This product is perfect for cleaning eyeglasses as well as jewelry. I've been using an eyeglasses cleaner with chemicals from a similar retailer for years. It finally died so I thought I'd try this one. It works well & definitely does not require any chemicals. The only negative aspect is that there is no option to use batteries instead of electricity. Also, it would be helpful if the water reservoir was detachable for easier filling.

this product is used to clean jewelry and eye glasses. the design is nice and the shape is goo. this product did not give my jewelry the bling that i needed. it seems like the longer the jewelry stayed in the unit, it worked a little harder. still not a great investment or gift.

This is great! I bought it for myself to clean my jewelery, mostly my engagement ring, wedding band, and diamond pendant. I tried it first on the 8 minute cycle with just plain water, my necklace was a little cleaner. Even though the instruction manual just says to use water, I added 2 drops of dish washer liquid (Dawn) and ran my necklace through the 8 minute cycle again. My necklace was sparkling as if it were brand new. You must must add the dishwasher liquid to see the real sparkle. I tried cleaning my tarnished silver and it didn't work. I think this is better for gold, platinum, and diamond jewelery.

I purchased this item hopping to deveat from chemical cleaners although, this is not the case. First the top doesn't open well at all, second if you are trying to clean anything that is sterling silver forget it. This item works alright on dimonds but thats about it. After giving it multiple chances I put it back in the box and forgot about it. Not worth the money! You get more bang for your buck with tradional cleaners.

I bought this item as a way to clean my son's glasses. We had a unit specific to glasses in the past, but it needed a special solution and it just kept breaking on us. We have been happy with this unit, it does a good job. I also clean jewelry and earrings in it - works great. The only annoying thing is that you have to bring the entire unit to the sink to fill and empty (it is very lightweight). Make's it tough to give it a permanent home where it can be plugged in.

I use this to clean my diamond ring and necklace mostly. It really is effective! The only drawback is that when cleaning silver jewelery it does not get rid of all of the tarnish. It is most useful for 18K gold and hard gems like diamonds. I have not found that it makes any difference on watch straps.

Overall, nothing cleans my jewelry like my jeweler. But I'm using this almost everyday to clean my rings. I am hoping it will keep them clean enough to stretch out my trips to the jeweler. It's quick and easy too - it only takes a few minutes while I get ready in the morning. The cover worries me though - it pops up nicely now that it's new but seems a little flimsy and there is no handle to open it manually.

I purchased this to help clean my large jewelry collection. It is easy to use; and does help "sparkle". I tested a real dirty piece from my daughter and a watch band. I had to run it thru several cycles. It did not add the sparkle and did need lots of "old fashion" cleaning. This is a great item for keeping your current jewelry clean. The lid did get hard to open after a few uses. It's not worth the price...for me, it is more along the $30 price range. I would recommended it if it is on sale.

Overall this is not a bad product. The design is very stylish, however, the problem is that I can't really tell how great it works as the difference between our jewelry prior to the cleaning process and after the process is not significant. But this could very well be because our jewelry wasn't all that "dirty" in the first place... Tried also rimless glasses and purposely made couple of clearly visible fingerprints on the glasses to see how it works. To my disappointment it did not remove the fingerprints but the parts of the glasses made from steel were definitely cleaner. Also tried on my watches with unnoticeable difference, but again, the watches appeared to be pretty clean prior to the test...
Bottom line: the product does appear to be working and I will not return it, however, I wouldn't have bought it should I have known the "before" and "after" difference will be so hard to notice...
