This product is great! It flies better than any simularly sized helicopter I have ever flown. It is much easier to control than the other copters by far, being easy to steer and allowing for not only indoor flights but also outdoor flights in low wind and low sun light as well. A gentle touch flies it best. Flies for 5 to 7 minutes on one charge. It also "takes a licking and keeps on ticking" being nearly indestructable and seems very well made. My 4 and 7 year old kids love to fly it too. A great value for many hours of fun!

My husband is huge into RC planes and helis he got this for our 2.5 year old. Our little guy loves it, he crashes into the walls, the sofa, ceiling fan and even his toys and it takes the beating. It is easy enough for him to control it , he is learning to stop before he crashes and slowling figuring out how to turn. He even brought it down to a soft landing once or twice. Of course we recommend the $4 insurance.

Very stable, challenging but also relatively easy to control. Yes you can actually control this one and have it flying around your loungeroom turning left or right and up and down without crashing for minutes at a time. All other mini helicopters Ive used so far have little control, they are just up and see how long you can last before it crashes against something.
Great value for money lots of fun and includes spare parts

I fly electric RC planes as a hobby. I had discouraged my 10yr old son from getting this type of helicopter as I wasn't convinced it would be durable or fun. Well, one trip to the mall with his mom overrode that decision.

First, this is a toy and it is intended ONLY for indoor use. I suppose you could try it outdoors with NO WIND but we haven't done that.

Key to success with this product is to have a nice big area without furniture to try it in. Our carpeted basement was perfect. For your first flights, just put it in the middle of the floor, throttle full up and then back it down until the heli is 3/4 of the way up. Don't touch the right stick, just watch which way it turns and adjust as close to no turn as you can with the trim control. If it heads off to a wall, just kill power and let it drop.

Repeat the above adjusting the trim a few times. When you're done, a fully-charged heli should fly almost straight. As power fades, you will find that it start to turn but this is easily compensated for with the right stick.

We've flown it many times now and kicking it into walls, chairs, etc., has done no damage. Again, just kill power when you are about to hit something and let 'er drop. Just wish this heli could fly a bit longer.

Anyone complaining about this product being flimsy has not a clue! This micro-RC Helicopter has hit all sorts of things before there was any breakage, and even then, the included repair kit came in handy. When a blade split, i was able to merely use scotch tape to mend it and it worked fine.

These are so much fun for everyone that i highly recommend it as a great gift for a very reasonable price... just don't forget to get the insurance for $4 -- it's TOTALLY WORTH IT!

The LED lights on it makes it very useable outdoors at night -- any other RC-Heli would have been lost by now -- and they're COOL! Also, larger RC-Heli's are not safe enough to fly indoors around people. These things are like remote controlled locusts which are safe to be used to buzz your friends & family! 8-)

Eventually, after smashing it over and over again into everything imaginable, including taking falls to the pavement from 50 feet in the air, i finally had to replace it for the mere $4 new insurance price -- again, totally worth every penny!

Had a difficult time learning to fly because I could only get about 30 seconds of flying time with each charge. Very difficult to control. Seems to have a mind of its own. I guess you get what you pay for.

These helicopters are amazing. They are easy to fly and everyone (young & old) have a great time using them...they work outside too if it isn't sunny. The only -ve is that the charge from the batteries isn't very long.

The silver bullet is a lot of fun. It takes little time to get the hang of flying it indoors. I have flown it for over a month with many crashes and only had to replace one very small part (parts kit comes with helicopter). I have flown it outdoors, but don't try this when there is any wind at all. In close spaces indoors it is easy to control. I have found the battery life for the onboard rechargeable battery to be very good and the 6 AA batteries have lasted while being use to recharge the onboard battery numerous times. The largest issue I have is the directional control of this helicopter. Getting it up is easy and maintaining hovering it pretty much a breeze. When it comes to trying to point it in a specific direction, that is tough and an area in need of improvement. However, overall, this has been a very good buy - well worth the money. Very sturdy helicopter.

just like it has been said many times, this thing is extremely durable, I've hit walls, windows, mirrors, blinds, even a ceiling fan that was rotating on its highest setting, and it with stood, as for ease of use, its best for kids 12 and up because they have a little more patients. this toy serves multiple purposes, a fun toy for me, and my cats, my 6 month old kitten just loves it.. and for those who want to make it go forward, just tape a small paperclip to the nose and off you go (dimes or pennies are much too heavy)

Nice fun, but it takes time to learn. Buy it with a protection plan as we have already replaced once.

This is the best mini RC helicopter that I own, approx. 15 min of flight time, durable, will witstand crash, as long as you not step on it or hit it with base ball bat or some thing then you will enjoy it for long time. I wonder what type of battery use in this one, very light and hold lot of energy.

Pretty durable, has survived multiple crashes. I've only had to replace one rotor blade so far, and that was easier than I expected.

Maybe its me, but I've found the unit hard to control. I can get it off the ground, but then it seems to have a mind of its own as far as where it goes. Maybe if the controls had a "forward" setting instead of just left or right, it would be easier to direct. Perhaps Brookstone should offer flying lessons with this product.

While some reviewers complain about steering control and durability, they seem to overlook that it costs less than $30 for an actual flying helicopter!

It does take some time to adapt to how this thing flies. I am not yet able to master its control, but now I can take off, fly around, and land with a lot of control.

The best thing though, it's a lot of fun instantly! My wife, brother-in-law, and myself enjoyed a long night of laughing and fun. It did hit the wall many times, and I actually had to replace the balancer on the blades, which was a delicate process but easy.

I am also surprised that people complain about durability. I hit this thing against walls, ceiling, chairs, tables, sprinklers, people, and even my cat jumped and clawed it mid-air, and it still works like a charm. The only thing I had to replace is the balancer, which came with it along with a whole new set of blades.

I've always dreamed of buying a remote-controlled helicopter, and today I got that for the cost of a single dinner at a restaurant. I highly recommend it.

My kids loved these helicopters. Within 24 hours of owning them, I replaced many parts on them, and found one of the helicopters wouldn't even spin the blades anymore. I checked the spindle assembly numerous times and made sure that the screw was aligned properly with the notch. It's now nothing more than a paperweight. Save your money!

If the steering could be corrected this would be a good product. I have no problem getting off the ground and flying but it will not steer. When you lift off it just spins in one direction. I use the steering trim to correct this but it does not always keep it from spinning. When the adjustment does work it usually makes it so you can only turn in one direction because the trim adjustment is to far the one way. So if you want to either just spin in a circle or fly around only making right turns then this is the product for you.

It is difficult to control, construction is not durable enough for beginners, and it is very unstable. Broke within an hour of flying time and blades are very hard to replace. They admitted the blades are very challenging to fix. [...] I would not recommend.

This toy is fun but the top rotor axle made in plastic is fragile, I changed 6 of them [...]while only one replacement spare is provided. The useful life should not exceed a few months, after a lot of repairs.

It's simple and is fun to fly. They include spare parts. It's very lightweight and shouldn't hurt anything if it runs into anything. Being so lightweight any moving air will blow it around. It takes some time to learn how to control it but it's not very difficult to figure out. Gives it a nice challenge.

unbelievably crash resistant/proof, and simple + easy to fly in an open or cluttered, obstacle packed, or spacious indoor environment. do not try outside. sunlight directly interferes with the inferred remote control and helicopter will lose control. overall, the best rc product i've ever experienced in my 15 years of living and having many of them

bought 2 when on sale, very fun to fly, was able to get under control during the first charge of batteries. I am impressed with the long flight time considering how tiny the battery is. best not used outdoors as any breeze will blow it away, sunlight interferes with infrared controller. best to use it inside. i would love to take it to a gymnasium to fly in large area. love it, love it, love it

Make sure you have a big room with high ceilings. It takes about 6 feet to get it up off of the floor and trimmed out. An 8 foot ceiling is just too low. My son (6 years old) and I fly ours in a room with 12 foot ceilings and about 18 X 30, free of obstructions. No problems except one that we got has been super durable and the other had the windshield pop off and all of the innards fall out after just a few soft crashes. I am going to take it back and see about a replacement. Only replaced one blade so far.

This is not worth [$]. It is not durable enough to be worth that. It's not difficult to learn to fly, but the slightest fall shatters multiple parts. I would say that it would be a good value for $10.

This is a neat toy if you can get the hang of it like the sales clerk at the store. I guess like everything else, practice will do it. The nice thing is that it's a sturdy little machine it bounced and bumped around but never did break. The greatest thing is that Brookstone will replace it if anything happened to it as long as you buy the warranty which is[$]It's well worth it. They already replaced the one I bought. The problem? The tail end got warped when the charger inadvertently got on top of it while I was charging it. Kids? Most of them are more coordinated than adults and can easily adjust to it. So I will definitely recommend it if they want it but make sure you buy the extra warranty. You can't beat that deal for so much fun to have.

At first it was a little hard to control, but now that I am learning to fly it more it just keeps getting funner, and funner! It is light weight and it is just like a normal helicopter! It has lights on the front and it has a little landing light!
It is soooo much fun! I think it is worth every penny! I do wish the batteries on the helicopter would last a little longer, but thats ok! Highly recommend buying this product!!

Well, I got this helicopter less then a week ago, and it's already broken. I know it comes with replacement parts, Ive already used them. I have not been using it in odd ways, Ive just been flying it around in normal ways. I crashed it a few times before one of the tiny weights in the balancing bar at the top popped out. I couldnt find it, so I replaced the bar with the spare. I got pretty good at it before I crashed it into a lamp and the little helicopter truly broke. From what I could see, one of the gears had been jarred out of place. However, it was fun while it lasted. I can still fly it, I just have to turn it upside-down, start the motor, and turn it right side up while the motor's running. Now that Im really good at it, Ill ask for another one for my birthday. You can probably learn how to fly it well and still have it intact. just be immensely careful until you are a spectacular pilot. and buy the extra insurance that brookstone offers. If I had bought that, It would be fine.

having owned a few RC hele's coming to the states i got bored, tried a bigger one from another store, it didnt last too well. this little flyer was really impressive, took a few mins to get the hang of the throttle, but once it was level and trimmed (trim on controller) it was great fun.. had the cats at home chasing it around the front room. took a beating and with the great spares kit that comes with it, fixed it and was back flying in a few mins.

This indoor helicopter is MUCH better than its predecessor! It can fly for well over 10 minutes straight and go 100 feet away from the remote! You'd have to be in a pretty big room or outside on a still day to need it, but its fun. Its a little tank. I've crashed mine a ton and have had no problems. It also includes all the replacement parts you'd need to fix it not once, but many times which is great. its super easy to control thanks to them removing the tail rotor and just making it dual blade which makes it easy to fly for anyone. I'm no pro, but i've been able to fly it around some pretty tight rooms after only 2 attempts!

its a blast, bottom line, it is certainly worth the money!

Once I got the hang of popping it of the ground and getting it trimmed, she flies like a dream. There are alot of clutter in my living room, and I have bounced it around quite a bit, including a confrontation with my ceiling fan, and it still flies great. I'm gonna go back and get another one.

They are extremely fun but the throttle and directional controls are sensitive. If you don't figure that part out soon enough, you will crash and break it. Go easy on the gas and you'll have it for plenty of time. They're a LOT of fun!

Great fun!, But... the parts that have broken on crash landings were not included in the spare parts kit. The stablizers are the ones that broke on the two units I bought. The blades seems durable so far. One landing did the motor in on one unit. Highly recommend the extended warranty. Learning to fly it was simple, but still a learning curve to navigate around obstacles.

This thing can take a beating I'm impressed. I sucked at flying this thing at first and crashed everytime I took off I crashed and this thing took the crashes in stride. It didn't take long to get the hang of it and now I can land it on my friends heads after owning it for less then a month.

Great product, flew easy and was an easy set up. The new nylon plastic casing and accessory material is hard to break and very tough against collisions. I definitely recommend this product for a beginner R/C helicopter flier.

chopper is tricky to fly out of the box if you've never flown one so, unfortunately you're going to probably go through replacement rotors right away. best to run up rotors (while holding chopper in right hand) to stabilize and then release. chopper has a tendenancy to spin uncontrollably at first thus recommend hold 'til rotors stabilize.[...] experimenting with rotor repairs and will post results when available.

This product should come with the 1-year warranty for free. This product should be cheaper or made to handle crashes better. If I, an adult, broke it after 5 uses just from running it into a wall, how are 8 year olds supposed to use it? Bottomline: It will break, and it will need to be sent back, so buy the warranty or don't buy the product at all.

I highly recommend the Silver Bullet. This helicoter is a blast to fly. It moves forward, left or right with easy. Triming the helicopter takes some practice. I have only flown it in doors. You do need a large room for flying or take it outdoors. I have had it for 1 week and have had many crashes without any damage to the helicopter. Of course, my skill has gone way up. It blows away the older helicopters sold at Brookstone. The only thing that could be better is if it could hover and go backwards. :)

Finally an R/C aircraft I can fly. So light it is almost unbreakable. Comes with extra blades. Must be sure to throttle down before crashing to mitigate blade breakage. Falls twenty feet onto wood floor and it flies again. I have owned two and the first one seemed harder to control or I just got better with the second one. I'm gonna buy a third soon for family. Brookstone stands behind their stuff (1st one did break and I have learned how to repair them).

I got this for father's day and it was the perfect gift! I used to build and fly RC Helicopters and this one is perfect for someone who is just getting into the hobby or wants something to play with in the family room with the kids. I could also see it being pretty fun at the office!

Well worth what my kids paid for it and it comes with extra blades and parts in case of a bad crash. Even my 5 year old daughter was able to fly this with just a few practice flights.

I love this "TOY".
I have purchased enough junk that didn't work before, and I got lucky with this. This thing is easy to fly.
I flew it from my family room, through the kitchen, across the entry hall, down the hall, and into our master suite. Un-believable!
I purchased this for myself for Father's Day. Yeah!
The girl at Brookstone was very helpful, she let me try it out in the store, it worked so well I bought two. One for me and one for my 34 year old son.

The Helicopter's battery runs for less than 15 minutes. You need to recharge frequently.
I have never had and RC unit before, so I presume that's one of the issues you need to deal with. I am returning it and will start searching for a unit that holds it's charge longer. Who knows, maybe that's just the normal fact you expect from these RC helicopters.

Maybe consider a Helicopter Simulator or even a Simulator for RC's

The Good Thing about the "Silver Bullet" is that like other places that make helicopters for instance Air Hogs, all Air Hog's Helicopters really do is hover, but the "Silver Bullet", a small and unique helicopter actually goes forward instead of just hovering in the air for 30 to 40 minutes. And plus Air Hogs Helicopters cost like [$], but the "Silver Bullet" is on [$]. And last thing, but if you get a helicopter from anywhere including Brookstone make sure you get the protection plan, so just incase it breaks, which is highly unlikely you can get a new one free of charge. I got my "Silver Bullet" last week and I've already bought another off of Brookstone.com. So enjoy yourself, and happy flying.

It works great ive bought similar 100 dollar helicopters and hands down this is the best. I would recomend this helicopter to any beginner or advanced helicopter pilot. The only con is you can not fly it outdoors.
