Had one child with colic, this product saved our sanity..She finally started sleeping in 4-6 hour blocks about a week after we got this, sleeps 12 hour nights now, she's almost 2 and is the best sleeper we know of all our friends' children! We have twins now..we don't go ANYWHERE without it and own three of them!! One in each child's bedroom, get it and get some sleep and a happier, more rested baby!

The volume on this machine is great. We had tried other cheaper noise machines but they didn't get loud enough for the sound to really block out other noise, but this one does.

This noise machine has helped tremendously in getting our son to sleep through the night. He used to wake at the slightest noise and we'd be tip-toeing through the house in the evenings doing our best not to wake him. With this noise machine, there's no need for it. It also definitely helped soothe him back to sleep when he was having nighttime wake-ups and learning to get back to sleep on his own. I would highly recommend this product to other parents with babies who are easily startled awake by noises or having trouble sleeping through the night.

Easily drowns out noise from through out the house when baby is sleeping. Love the choices available. Now that my 22 mos old son is getting older he asks for the cool car sound each night. This was given as a gift to us by friends who had finally found something to soothe fussy baby. Now I am buying it for my friend. It has been almost 2 years and no problems. I just wish there was separate on/off switch.

High quality sound, no skips or noticeable repeating. Max volume is quite loud; good if you live under an elevated train, I guess. No bright lights that I would have had to disable, like on the more expensive one.

This product is totally serves it's purpose...which is to provide white noise in order to drown out our noise while my son is sleeping. I also really like the small size. Before I was using a huge humidifier. My only nit-picky complaint s are that I wish there was a on/off switch that was separate from the volume switch - and I wish you could go directly to the "noise" of your choice without having to scroll through all the other noises.

This sound machine has saved our nights! When we brought our newborn son home from the hospital he would constantly wake his sister (16 months older), who is normally a GREAT sleeper, when he cried at night. I tried running a fan AND a humidifier, but I was always stressed at night, just waiting for his cries to wake her...which they inevitably did. As soon as I started using this sound machine, my daughter went back to sleeping through the night - she doesn't hear her brother at all! I can watch her on the monitor when he's crying & she doesn't even stir. This machine is worth every penny!

Bought a cheaper one from Conair and it made loud cracking sounds, not what you want when putting baby to sleep. I use the white noise option only, but it has others too. It plugs in or can be used with batteries. I sleep with my baby and can't even hear the noise after a minute, you just sort of tune it out. We both sleep better.

product worked for several months, then started cutting off during the night. may stay on 5 minutes and then cut off again. each time it cuts off, our child wakes up. Not very convenient. I thouth it was just ours, but a friend is now ordering her 2nd for the same reason.

The baby likes the sound of a whirring fan when she is fussy. This sound is not included, but the sounds do lull her to sleep. My husband likes to use it, too.

This is the best sound machine out there! We have been using it with our son for over two years now. The option of using batteries is great for traveling to help re-create the same feeling of being at home. And this machine is durable, my son dropped it in the toilet over a year ago and it is still going strong! When I have another child I will purchase another one and take it to the hospital with me!

Two of my kids share a room and go to bed earlier than the rest of the household, so I wanted something that would provide a little "white noise" so they wouldn't be bothered by the rest of the sounds in the house. I use this item when my baby needs to nap. She has two older brothers that make a lot of noise. The sounds from the machine drown out the wrestling matches downstairs. It even puts me to sleep!

Because of the location of the on/off button, I sometimes accidentally change the sound while trying to shut it off. It's not a big deal.

The best sound machine I have seen on the market for babies. Highly recommend it. Others have very poor sound quality that sounds abrasive and harsh. The sound from this machine is clear and soothing. My daughter is 3 and we still use it if only to drown out the sounds of my husband's snoring! She also likes the lullaby music.

I absolutley LOVE this machine. I use it for my two year old daughter and since I have put it in her room we don't feel like we need to be completely quite when she sleeps. I also bought one to use for my week old son. I would highly recommend this to everyone with children.

My baby was always distracted by the noises of me washing dishes, talking on the phone, etc. Now, I finally have something that truly creates a constant "background noise" that masks normal household sounds. What i really love is the ability to play the unit continuously. Even the usual "90 minute" cycle isn't enough. I use this and the baby is good for her whole 2-3 hour naps...and ALL night. I just shut it off in the morning. Also, this unit provides a sound level that is actually loud enough for me to have it plugged in on the other side of the room, it doesn't need to be right next your baby's ear! My husband tried to set up a whole "baby playlist" on his IPOD with speakers, etc for her room...but when you have a baby in one hand that you're trying to calm down and get to sleep, you need to just be able to use one hand to flick a switch...not to try and be "scrolling" around for your choice of music. This will my future baby shower for new parents from now on! Enough of the cute onesies...a sleeping baby is the best gift!

We put this item on when my son goes to sleep to drown out any sounds throughout the house. It works really well. The only thing I would change is to offer better sounds. The dolphin and waterfall sounds work well. Many of the others don;t do the job in drowning out the noise in the house.

I bought this for our second child after relying on it tremendously for our first (which we are still using!). I love the continuous noise feature which allows the white noise to stay on all night long and block out or reduce the sounds of storms or kids playing outside. Our kids are light sleepers so this is a sleepsaver for us! I wish it was a little smaller for when we travel, otherwise it's perfect.

I recently bought this product because my son suffers from VERY light sleep. Everytime we used to invite friends over after putting our son to sleep, he would wake up crying, making our friends feel uncomfortable and wanting to leave. A friend reccomended this product, and ever since we bought it, it has been a lifesaver! We like it because we can select the minutes we want it to play, and the sounds are nice and relaxing for our son. Now, when we have friends over, he gets to sleep all night, and we can stay up longer with our friends! ... a MUST for light sleepers!!!

This is great for lulling a newborn to sleep and drowning out background noises so they can stay asleep. We have been using ours for 2 years and my son still loves listening to the lullaby as he falls alseep (he is now 2). Our newborn never napped well and woke up at the slightest noise. We bought this machine and he was able to nap for 3-4 hours straight! He also slept through the night better, and I am able to run the washing machine or make noise and he doesn't budge. Now that he is almost 2 we are still using it. We plan to give this as a shower gift from now on.

This was a great purchase after the birth of our daughter. However, after about 6 months there was a lot of vibration inside the machine and we have been unsuccessful in quieting it. The other issue we have is that during a power outage, I put new batteries in so that our daughter could take a nap and the machine did not work! I knew it was not the batteries as they were new. I cannot return the product, because we no longer have the receipt.

This product has wonderful soothing music and white noise that creates a calm, serene environment for my baby at nap or bed time or feeding. The white noise sound is especially good at drowning out dog barking, loud cars, etc. The timer is a nice feature - although I tend to leave it on continuous play mode out of habit. Overall, very easy to use and has crisp, clear sound.

This is a great white noise generator, but the power cord (when attached) can act as a radio antenna. When we use this unit in the second floor of our house, we can hear radio commercials coming in on top of the white noise. Pretty crazy. I like the unit so much, though, that I'm going to try to find some EMF shielding that I can use on the power cord before I decide to return the unit.

We got our first Brookstone sound machine as a hand me down for our first child. The machine is at least 7 years old and it still works perfectly! Now we have a new baby and because our daughter still loves to sleep with her machine we are going to buy a new one.
