After opening the package(s) I instantly notice the quality of the wood...

after beginning the assembly, i realize that 2 people are needed to hold the unit in place while tightening all the fasteners or the thing will just fall apart.

...the directions could be better too.

all in all, it fits our space and we'll eventually stain it to match our decor.

Our Pantry was a nightmare & these shelves (1 Corner unit & (2) 6-shelve units) allowed us to create a nice, un-cluttered pantry. The 6-shelf units took my husband less than 30 minutes to assemble ...so MOL (1) hour total with no assistance. The corner unit assembly took maybe an hour overall ...the brass pins were a little tricky and required my assistance ...but nothing we couldn't tag-team. I did alot of price comparison on the "www" for this specific type of shelving unit & found it came down to (2) company's offering them 1) Brookstone and 2) "Company X". Brookstone came in [$]cheaper per unit for an overall savings of [$] ...not bad. As previously stated, we bought these shelving units for the pantry & they ended up becoming 2-fold because it allowed us to clear space in our kitchen cupboards as well ...by relocating some of the larger "under the cabinet" kitchen appliances that we didn't use on a regular basis back to our new pantry shelving ...So does this mean I can now go out & buy some "new" small kitchen appliances to fill-in the new-found spaces within our kitchen cabinets ...Just Kidding!! ...Really I am Just Kidding. They are AWESOME & are just what we needed to help "de-clutter" (2) rooms ...don't forget under the kitchen cabinets was merely a unexpected BONUS ...(woo woo). Last words before wrapping it up ...our particular situation did not require us to brace the shelving units to the pantry walls. Anyways, I hope all of the above helps you in your decision ...Kindest Regards

When my wife and I opened the boxes we were very impressed by how neatly all the pieces were packed together. Everything fit perfectly! And I was delighted to find that no welding was required for the assembly of the shelves. (I’m not a very good welder.)
We ordered a total of seven units and, while the first one took us an hour to assemble, we got it down to less than fifteen minutes with a little practice. We found that our biggest problem was putting the ends on the rods too tightly at first, making the shelves impossible to fit.
We weren’t smart enough to realize that if you’re putting two or more shelf sets together you can use one common set of vertical supports. We assembled all our units individually and it took a neighbor – a retired airplane mechanic – to point out that we could save space and pieces by hooking them up together. This was an embarrassing mistake for me since I’m a mechanical engineer by training.
The shelves look very nice in our utility room. I’d recommend them to anyone who needs shelving and has an afternoon to kill. Also, we now have a nice collection of allen wrenches.

I was skeptical that this product's quality would live up to my expectations; however, I was pleasantly surprised. For my application, I decided to stain the rack to meet my darker color preferences, but out of the box the product is attractive. I integrated the entire Swedish shelving system into a customized wine cellar and storage room that receives compliments from all of my guests. If you need flexible, sturdy storage, I highly recommend this product.

A very good buy, only set back is you must anchor the units to the wall for excellent sturdiness.

the corner shelves were a little cumbersome to assemble, and the pictures in the instructions could have been larger, showing detail of the corner screws, but overall it was fairly easy and I enjoy the new shelves.

The storage space is great, and the unit is very sturdy and stable even without the wall attachments (Included, I just didn't use them). The only thing I didn't like is that the pieces came in several boxes.
