This product is a wonderful tool. I use it mainly for grilling, and the back light display helps a lot since i grill at nighttime for parties. I'm an avid cook, and the fact that the thermometer is preset for various meats and a bonus potato setting, takes the guesswork out of knowing the temperature required for each food. Also its rather easy to use, just one button and you choose the meat you want. Initially, i was hesitant to purchase this item because it does cost a bit, but with such a great product, in the long run its a worthy investment. I really have no regrets in putting my money in something that is of good quality. My only regret....not having purchased this months ago.!!

I used to overcook everything for a picky wife but now everything is juicy AND done. This takes all the guess work out of the equation if your an occasional griller like me (no master chef). I've even used it with a George Foreman grill for great food on rainy days.

I used this product on hamburgers, but did not get accurate temperature. It might work correct if the meat was thicker. Also took too long to register.

When I grill for family, I get orders for steaks ranging from "Pittsburgh Blue" to "well-done, please!" This utensil helps me keep track of the individual steaks and helps me come closer to the requests than ever before. And during winter weather when outdoor grilling is difficult, the fork is just as useful for oven-broiling. This item gives quick and accurate information...couldn't ask for better help unless it was a chef to do the grilling for me! I intend to purchase more to give as gifts throughout 2009!

Most of the settings are helpful. They seem to be accurate, but I would like more refined settings and it's difficult to see at the grill when it's dark out.

Overall however, my steaks have been done perfectly for a change!

I received this product in May 08 in Jan of 09 it broke. The batteries had basically exploded in the handle. I removed the batteries and replaced with new, but the unit became extremely hot. Being that this was a gift I did not have a reciept or order number therefore unexchangeable. But I gotta say it worked really well, and I will probably hesitantly purchase another.

I actually bought two and gave them as gifts. Had good feedback from both people. Only con was one of the readings is written in pink and one recipient could not read the pink because they are color blind. Other than that good product.

Simple to use, AND very accurate. Display is easy to read in all conditions I've experienced. My steaks come out perfect, and I've even used it to cook a turkey in the oven, with excellent results. Auto shut-off is nice to conserve battery life, and it remembers what you were doing when you turn it back on. It is a bit large to store, but in turn, that gives you nice distance from a hot grill. No burned knuckles here! I've owned three other brands of digital forks, and this simply outclasses them all. Multiple food settings, make it very versatile.

works with all the meats. Once in a while the readings stick and you hae to wait for it to shut down. Needs a manual shut off. can't wait the two minutes when the meat is slimost done when it sticks.

I've always wanted one of these and finally splurged and got myself one. The prongs that you stick into the meat are so big that I felt like I was leaving gaping holes and it is bulky to store in a drawer but other than that, it works great. I like that it has settings for the different types of meat and it has an automatic shut off and remembers what you used it for last. For the money, it's quite high end.

I really like the "reading" area that lights, very easy to read, and it seems pretty accurate so far. There's a bar that goes up with the level of doneness. This is the 3rd different one that I've bought (other stores), and FINALLY found a keeper! LOVE IT!

I purchased the Digital Fork Meat Thermometer for the summer; however, it was used during the holiday season. the temp read is a little slower than other thermometers i've used (by a few seconds), but since your hand is so far from the flames, it doesnt matter.
