When I get home from work after a long stressful day, I can't wait to lie down for 15 or 20 minutes with the Real Ease neck support. It is better than any of the orthopedic pillows I own, or even taking a warm bath, for relieving and relaxing neck tension. Sometimes I even use it in the middle of the night when I wake up with neck pain. While it is definitely a big help, it is not a cure, and won't make much difference if your neck pain is really severe.

I thought this might be a great tool for relaxing and negating migraines. it's nice, but really didn't do much for me that a good pillow wouldn't do. i liked it for about a week, and then it lost it's charm. i took it on a plain and used it at home while on the computer, but at the end of the day, i stopped using it quite fast.

This apparatus will give your tight shoulders and aching neck a break. It took a while for me to get used to it, especially to the plastic curve that sits under the neck because I am petite. Works great, though. I have a bulging disk and severe whiplash injuries, and this has helped me. Just be sure you only use it 10-15 minutes at a time. Use it longer than recommended and you may have different sore muscles to deal with (HINT: don't fall asleep resting on it).

This product is so convenient to use. I use it watching TV in a chair and get great relief from constant neck pain. I haven't found anything that works to relieve this pain other than a chiropractor & that is a very expensive & ongoing treatment. I was skeptical about this but thought I'd try it. At first, it was difficult to find the right (comfortable) spot but once I found what worked for me, I was sold. This thing is awesome! Granted it is pretty flimsy but it does the job. I have TMJ and associated neck/shoulder tension and this gets rid of the tension and pain in 10-15 minutes. I wish I had found this years ago.

This is great to put on top of a pillow when in bed watching TV or reading. Keeps neck in good alignment, the opposite of what a wad of pillows generally does. I take mine on the road when I travel for my job, as well as use it at home. I have had mine for at least 5 years, and it's held up well. The plastic is supposed to be flexible for proper support, but the design makes it hard to fit in a suitcase or carry on...but worth the trouble.

i use this just before going to bed at night. it stretches my neck similiar to traction during physical therapy and is much easier to use than the physical therapist's suggestion of putting two tennis balls in a sock and laying on that!

This little gizmo is great for taking the tension out of my shoulders and neck after a stressful day. 10 minutes is all I need to loosen up.

It really only works on a firm surface however. Don't think you'll be using this in the bed, unless your mattress is a piece of plywood. Likewise, I haven't found it very effective on the couch our in an easy-chair. I usually just plunk it down on the living room rug and listen to the news for 10 minutes while I relax.

So far I have used the product when I have strained my neck from exercise and found it to be helpful. I can't comment on using it for reading or at a desk because I don't have a chair with high enough backs to lean into it. It does help relieve the stress in my neck as that's where mine settles.

This is a great product. As a physical therapist, I've always looked for a way to adequately do this kind of tension release to myself. This does the trick! The only thing I'd like better is if the base it sat on was a little wider - it can feel a bit ackward at times. Once you settle in, however, you are bound to get the relief you are looking for.

I was feeling desperate for some simple relief from my arthritic neck and resultant headaches and shoulder pain. I have used it 20 times for about 10 minutes a session and have always experienced relief. I have actually used less medications to ease the pain. I purchsed this to relive my neck and back pain. It is not a cure all by any means but it really does ease the pain if you use it for the recommended time daily. I try to use it everyday and even more if I am having pains. I lay on the floor for 15-20min. and sometimes even nap:) and when I get up the pain is gone. Others say it is flimsy but I disagree it has to have some bounce to work correctly and my 2 year old plays with it and it still looks brand new. Give it a try and see if it works for you in my case I have not regretted this purchase.

I agree with other comments that it is a little flimsy. I am a young, slender female so it is fine for me. I've had neck pain for years since an auto accident. I'm a military spouse overseas so I don't have my chiropractor anymore. I get massages and this helps in between massages to stretch out my neck. I suffer from shoulder tightness and tension headaches. I lay down on carpet before bed for about a half hour and it helps a lot.

I absolutely love this product. when i received it in the mail i was a little skeptical. ive been suffering with arthritis throughout by whole body since i was 8 and im 19 now, so i know about having a stiff neck. when the joints in your neck have limited movement, the muscles in your neck start to become very tight. after using the Real Ease neck support my neck felt more loose after every use. its so relaxing that i would fall asleep during every use lol. my only problem was that the foam has started to come away from the plastic on one side and i have had it only about two months now. it still works perfectly fine but i would prefer it didnt have the seperation! other than that i have no complaints!!

This product works great-as long as it is being use on a hard surface. I found I got the most benefit when I used it while I was laying on the floor as appose to the bed. It is still comfortable on the bed but doesn't do much in terms of helping out with neck issues.

I was surprised by how well this works. When you're using it, it doesn't seem like it's doing much, but when you're done and you move your neck around it's amazing how loose the muscles have become! Using this daily has almost entirely eliminiated my tension headaches, which I used to get daily.

I tend to develop neck tension due to many things during my workday, including stress. I've had two neck surgeries in the past and because of that I used neck traction almost daily. REAL-EaSE completely relaxes me and the tense neck muscles. I use the neck support 2-3 times per week and no longer use the previous traction device. I have also purchased REAL-EaSE for my daughter with very positive results.

I have always had frequent headaches, perhaps caused by whiplash several years ago. I have lots of tension in my shoulders and neck and this really helps! It allows me to relax my muscles as my neck gets the proper curve. My chiropractor recommended using a rolled towel or foam pillow, but this is so much better than both of those! Less tension and less headaches! Given 4 stars because it could be a little heavier plastic with a more dense foam. Other than that, it's great

I have fibromyalgia with frequent headaches. Just using the Real-Ease for 15 minutes can often relieve tension headaches. Too bad you aren't supposed to sleep with it because I know I could.

I purchased two of these - one for me and one for my wife, and we use them on a daily basis ... at least I do. She uses hers at least 3 to 5x per week. Often, I use it in the morning to get out the kinks and before bed to relax neck and shoulder tension. IT REALLY WORKS!

It's a good little gadget to stretch out light tension but it doesn't get to the deep muscles. I have disc degeneration and need more stretching than this has to offer. For someone that just needs to get a little pull, it would work well.

I bought this product because I have lots of neck and shoulder pain. I get massages periodically to help; my masseuse usually rolls up a towel and places it under my neck for about 10- 15 minutes of the massage. I've tried to do this at home myself but never seem to get the same effect. I don't know if I roll up the towel wrong? or my towels are a different thickness? or I don't place it correctly? This neck support takes all that out of the equation. It does help release tension, as advertised. I could go either way on the recommendation though. If you can get the towel method right, why spend the $ for this? But if you can't, this is foolproof...

My husband has chronic migraines and one of the problems he has with them is a very tense neck. I saw this product in the catalog and thought it would be a great valentine's day present for him. I waited to purchase the product for my husband's chronic neck tension afraid it was a gimmick.  After it appeared in nummerous catalogues, I trusted Brookstone would not continue carrying a useless product.  It is amazing the relief he gets using it 15 minutes prior to sleep. It's really easy to use and figure out. Feels good while you're laying there. You have to use it on a hard surface (floor), so the rest of you suffers a little. Wish it was a little bit sturdier for the larger heads of the world.

I've had constant neck pain for the past 5 years, and using this gives me good relief- doesn't make the long term problem go away, but pain disapates for a while.

It's good at helping to release tension at in your neck. It could use 2 wooden rotating balls at the base of the skull to force the tension out.

The fit on this product does not seem to be quite right. Perhaps I have not used it consistently enough, but the tension in my neck and shoulders was not relieved to the degree expected.

For something that you lay your head on and that's supposed to relieve stress, I expected this would have a more solid construction. The plastic is pretty thin and I'm a little embarrassed to give this as a gift to my very picky sister.

I love this product! It helps relieve the pressure in the neck, shoulders, and back muscles to ease headaches and migraines. Easy to use, only drawback is that you have to lie down on a hard surface to unsure that your head is properly in place. Great stress reliever. I would purchase it again.
