After struggling with [...] telescoping dog ramp (I would jam up in the cold and you couldn't get it to extend). We finally threw in the proverbial towel and looked for a store we knew we could count on to deliver quality. This ramp is great! We have two dogs. A 130lb Newfoundland and an 85lb Rottie mix. Both have no problems. The traction is excellent. The frame is made of a heavy duty durable plastic composite. It's light and most importantly, easy to extend.

I got this shorter-length ramp to use at the side door of my car (Subaru Outback wagon)--the back seat is the dog space--but it is just a bit too wide to fit well in the door frame. Instead of walking up the ramp my dog tried to jump over it to get to the back seat, since the ramp was partially covered by the car door frame and sat at an awkward angle (I had to kind of wedge it in to make it stable). It seems to be designed for a side-opening vehicle like a minivan, and for that I think it would work fine. It's reasonably sturdy and has a good gripper surface, lightweight but fairly bulky. Note: It's too short and steep to work as a ramp for the back cargo space; really suitable only for a minivan!
