I bought one of these and spent 5 months in the Middle East with no problems, using everything from phone chargers to computer chargers. I lost it after I got home, then bought another one that I used for 3 weeks in Germany before it stopped working and shorted out my hair clippers. After that I bought another one and have spent over a year in Germany with it with absolutely no problems. Again, I use it for everything and I use it every day. It is in almost continuous use. So it seems really hit or miss. I'd still recommend it.

I travel to the UK alot and couldn't live without this adaptor! It's so easy to use and you can't lose all the little parts since they are all built into the unit. I primarily use this for hair dryers, flat irons and curling irons. Love!

I am livid. I'm in Australia and my room almost caught on fire because my charger started melting. I was completely using it correctly. I think it's almost criminal how they trick you into buying and using it only to find out it's for hair dryers that cost less than the converter itself.

Although it says prominently that this unit is good for "up to 1600 watts," it is easy to miss in the fine prin that it is not usable for a lower wattage range.

Easier to spot on the website, hard to spot on the packaging if you buy i in the store.

DON'T buy this thinking you can poswer your computer, charge yor iPod or Camera, etc.
