The sound was great but not worth the cost. The downside is the remote was not easy to use and you couldn't be far from the unit for the remote to work. It was too heavy to move from room to room. It took several calls to the local Brookstone store to figure out how to use it and it just never seemed to work right. I believe you can get as good a sound from a much less expensive piece of equipment.

Amazing sound for a tower system. It's like I'm sitting in the front row of any concert with its great sound. The tower also is easy to set up. Just plug it in and add the ipod.

Let me start by saying that I consider myself an audiophile. To give you an idea of how much having the best sound possible matters to me, I have a pair of Dynaudio speakers in my living room and I had the entire Bose system ripped out of my Audi and replaced everything with aftermarket amps and Dynaudio speakers.

I've been looking for a really good speaker dock for my iPhone 3G and I've tried a few. I tried the B&W Zeppelin for $600. I tried the Polk i-Sonic for $500. I even went with a pair of powered separates from Audioengine. I thought they all had the same mediocre sound, no bass and grating highs. My Klipsch computer speakers sounded much better.

Then I happened to be at my brother's house and he started playing music on this iDesign Tower. I was blown away. I mean, obviously it doesn't sound as good as my Dynaudios but the difference in price is several thousand dollars so that's expected. But I can say, without reservation, that this is THE best sounding iPod/iPhone dock I have ever heard. I was blown away for a few reasons. First, I had never heard of Brookstone. The system uses very small speakers up front and has a modest power rating on the speakers, only 15 watts for the full range speakers and 35w for the sub. Ignore that. I can tell you that it sound much more powerful, cleaner and more full bodied, than the B&W which is somehow rated at 100 watts.

The system not only sounds amazing but it also looks more elegant than any other. And I love the power management. It powers my iPhone and automatically shuts itself off when I disconnect my iPhone. And when I dock my iPhone it automatically starts playing music from the iPod on my iPhone. Lastly the remote is simple yet absolutely ideal.

In short... Buy it. You won't regret it. Oh, and even though it wasn't "designed to work with" my iPhone, it does so flawlessly.

I love the way it sounds and what I did is put all my vinyl records on cd's put all my music on my itouch and now all have do is play all my music, and no more cd to deal with.

this is probably the worst speaker i have ever purchased. it sounded really good at the store, i got it home and it didn't work. i switched it out at the store the next day and that speaker only worked for 2 weeks. so then i switched it out AGAIN and this time the ipod plug in on the speaker got loose and didn't work. so i just got so fed up, just returned it. don't waste your time or money on this item.

I use this product in my bedroom and occasionally outdoors. The sound is clean no matter how low or high the sound is. I like the remote control feature although it is a little limited. The unit is heavy therefore difficult to move from point A to B.

I bought this dock sight unseen and let me just say it was well worth the risk. I am so pleased with this purchase. I was orignally looking to buy a Bose system strictly based off the name but I wasn't reading really great reviews about it. They weren't bad just not good enough to make me want to rush out and buy one. I've purchased from Brookstone before so I figured I'd see what they had to offer. After reading the reviews I decided to go with this. It has a great look to it and with this I don't have to worry about shelf space, I just have in the corner nxt to my tv and stuff. The dock does not have any equalizers on it so I manipulate the sound through my ipod touch music settings. Bass was a big concern for me and I was pleasantly surprised to find that when I had it on Bass booster it was almost too much bass which is good! When i'm not using it to play the ipod i hook it up to my home theater system to give me extra volume and bass when I'm watching movies!!! So it serves two purposes. I'm so glad I went with this item and not Bose and would recommend this to anyone who wants great sound whether the volume is high or low and fits in with just about any decor.

Moving into an apartment, I knew that I wanted some type of speaker(s) for all of the music I had on my iPod. This is the perfect size and sound quality. It sounds great throughout my 1000 sq ft apartment. The remote works well, if you point it at the middle of the tower. Installation - well it couldn't get any easier to take out of a box and plug into a wall outlet.

We searched for months for a stereo system for out medium sized family room. We ran into this while at the mall and it sounded great in the store. We decided to try it with iPod touch and it sounded better at home (and fits perfectly in the corner). It became our home stereo with iPod touch ([@]. allows you to get radio too). This is a "best kept secret" for audiophiles!!! I never even ran into iDesign Tower during my extensive research of stereo systems. My only recommendation is an inputs to connect my TV. iDesign and iPod touch=$500... great price!

This speaker system sounds fantastic on its own, but when you add the wireless speakers ([$] ea) you have a music system throughout your home and outdoor patio. The idesign Tower comes with a line in and line out plug. You can easily hook up your wireless speaker transmitter that comes with your wireless speaker/s and you have music throughout your home. Just great to be able walk from room to room, from upstairs to downstairs, with the same music at the same level playing throughout. I took the idesign tower for a test drive with my own ipod at the O'Hare Airport store and bought it - free shipping. I cranked up my own tunes then walk out of the store to hear what it sounded like walking through the airport - performed great amongst the noise of O'Hare.Get this speaker you won't be disappointed -bass comes through very clean as well.

I can not say anything wrong about the iDesign Tower. It has a rich sound. The adaptors that come with it will fit a variety of MP3 players that are not listed as compatible. For the money, this is a great speaker system.

Wow is all I can say, I love this thing... I purchased it on Wed and had the thing working Wed night. I use it for my iPod touch and it works great. I use the ipod EQ for songs and the speaker makes the music sound even better. My 5 yr old loves how easy it is that he can turn it on and dance.. I would recomend this to anyone. Forget about the little docking station pay a little more for the quality....

We have a rather large room and the iTower fit it perfectly. Great sound with the added advantage of being a docking station. Incredibly easy to use and produces amazing sound. The controller fully controls both the ipod AND the tower (which is great). So you don't have to muck about much and it's oh so very easy.

I love the look and function of the iDesign Tower. I listed the only con, lacking stereo definition. By default, since it's a single piece of equipment, the stereo separation you might otherwise expect is a little lacking. However, it does have outputs for additional connections. The sound quality is very good, good bass definition considering the footprint of the unit.

I bought this as a Christmas gift and the recipient liked it so much that I bought a second one for our own home. It sets up right out of the box and works great right away. Only thing is that it needs a three-prong plug.

I just plugged this thing in and to say that it is amazing is a poor choice of words. BUT IT IS! It is amazing!!! I have shopped around for months and I am extremely happy i didn't buy the Bose System.

I don't like the little remote that comes with this system. I feel like it controls my ipod to slow.

I first heard this speaker system while walking thru a Texas airport. From the Brookstone store its sound captivated me as I rushed down the middle of the busy concourse. The power, crispness and compelling bass qualities blew me away. Let's face it, music quality from an IPOD thru any earphones that cost less than $1500 is horrendous. But this unit is able to retrieve from the IPOD musical tones that you didn't know you had. I love my speaker system and unqualifiedly endorse it.

I've checked around. I've been looking at the Bose for about a year. I was in the mall,and heard this amazing sound coming from this ipod tower. I the next day brought my ipod in to sample the sound. What a great sound. Then tested the bose. The tower system had a greater base sound which I like. Took it home that day. Love it!!

This speaker is Fantastic. My Husband nought it and I was a little sceptical but OMG, it sounds like your at a rock concert! It's perfectly clear and the bass doesn't drown out the lyrics. I would totally recommend this to anyone and everyone!

When we got the unit home and unpacked it, I installed the docking insert recommended for the latest version of the I Pod Nano and it won't dock properly. Since that is the version now being sold by Apple, I feel that Brookstone should have that dock insert available, but they don't and have no idea when they will.Brookstone has a great product but they don't have a solution yet for us, or for anyone else that is purchasing the I Pod Nano with the shake to shuffle feature.

This has to be one of the better products i have seen from this store in years. I bought a CD system from them about two years ago and i love it. Now i have moved away from home to go to college and i needed something for my dorm that sounded good and didn't take up space. When i walked it to Brookstone i instantly fell in love with it. When i had Stairway to Heaven on in the store it sounded like they were playing right in front of me. Its truly amazing. I recommend it to anyone who loves music and needs it to sound good.
