Review for Ultra-Thin Travel Speaker

This product is great to supplement poor speakers on laptops and slips easily into a briefcase. The sound can distort somewhat what but if you ajust the speaker drum it corrects. It is great for short audio prentations and clips. We bought four of them.

Sound quality is poor. Brookstone associates laughed at me when I told them about poor sound quality. "What did you expect for the price?"

I use this product on my nana ipod, connecting it was fairly easy. But the sound quality was very poor on some of my music selections compared what I heard at the store. I could barely hear the vocals on some selections, very poor vocals. Only heard the instruments as the vocals were muffed in the background.
I should have brought me a real portable sound system, at least the vocal would have been better.
Poor design overall....would not recommend this product

Survived two trips and provided access to my Ipod in the room in the evening without having to resort to earbuds. It does convert Stereo to Mono without having to buy an adaptor. However during the third trip, the phone jack broke off inside the unit. I am debating about whether to get a new one or not.

I was looking for something to replace my netbook speakers because they are very low etc and i found this at the brookstone store and decided to try it there the ipod didn't workj well at first but since i have a blackberry decided to add it on and all i heard was heavy metal play in high quality and said oh crud i have to get this really do like it so far battery havn;t died and the thing i have in mind is getting some rechargables at high capacity like camera ones etc. but the quality and loud ness honestly is great especially since i was in the mall and everyone passing by heard it in claity everyone stared and agreed that it sounded great extremely portable especially for a netbook bag and honestly one of my best purchases most portables device ever

the on-off switch is easily switched to on when in a bag and can drain the battery

also, the battery cover is very hard to close and often doesn't close

product works fine but the design needs improvement

This is a pretty good product. I like it and am happy I bought it. The sound is ok, not great. But it's the most portable design I've found. Thin, light and reasonably capable.

I was thrilled - I could use this in the car or the garage or whereever I was doing projects, but no. The batteries run down FAST. High distortion, cheaply made so I got the extended warrantee, which I bet I will need. [...] its a rip off! Good idea, poorly executed and untrustworthy.

I use the speaker when working on the laptop and really like it! The only down side is that the batteries wear out easily. Other than that it's perfect for me, and I will give as gifts in the future.

The size, weight and portability are really terrific qualities. The speaker itself lacks the UMPHHH to make really good sounds (low and high tones are weak). But, it is what it is - a lightweight, portable speaker to be used in small intimate places and situations. It was NOT intended to be a "boom box" sound (thank goodness) nor a high end stereo speaker. However, I have NOT heard them used in tandem as a pair for a stereo and that might be different.

This is a great travel product, typical Brookstone I guess. It sounds great and it packs real small so it's good for the road. I have two now, one for the den and one in my pack wherever I go

This is a good speaker as far as sound quality. BUT it is absolutely worthless for a very big reason. It doesnt convert to mono. All Ipods and macs and most laptops play ONLY in Stereo. so unless you use an off brand mp3 player or an old computer. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!! The makers should have included a conversion chip in the speaker but didnt and until they do this speaker is rubbish!

At first I was skeptical about this product, but when I fixed the problem I was having (the audio cable wasn't completely into the audio jack on the speaker) it worked just as advertised. I DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone in need of VERY portable speakers.

This speaker is perfect, I travel a lot and this goes with me all the time. It sounds great and I don’t have to worry about it getting damaged.
