This product is described as durable, which I take serious issue with. I purchased this mat for use in my carpeted home office. As soon as I put my chair on it the first time it started to scratch and crack. I immediately regretted my purchase, especially since I paid [$]!The mat is made up of wood slats that are connected together by thick fabric underneath. So when I roll my chair on it the slats move up and down and scrape up against each other, causing an annoying cracking sound.I have used the mat for 6 months now, and it is in pretty bad shape from normal every day use. The finish is worn off in many spots, there are scratches and dents all over it, and large splinters continue to come off constantly.I would never recommend this mat.

I bought the bamboo office chair mat because my computer tower was shorting out from static when it was on carpet. My office chair rolls easily on its surface and the dark cherry color complements my dark hard wood floor. But despite being advertised as having seven coats of scuff protection, it gets scratched anyway. But I've noticed that it doesn't get scratched by the wheels of my desk chair. Be careful of walking on it with shoes that have little pebbles embedded in your soles. It also picks up a lot of dust because it's dark. I use Endust to clean it which works well. Overall, it's a nice product though not cheap. It does roll up for transport but it's still fairly bulky.

This chair mat is lightweight and doesn't stick to the carpet and crack like my old plastic chair mat. Chair rolls smoothly across mat and I love the idea that is made from bamboo. My family is trying to be more eco-conscious in all of our purchases.
