Low-profile custom water trap mat captures water and dirt to keep them off your floors. It has crush-resistant nubs that handle heavy foot traffic and scrape dirt, mud and sand from shoes. Designed to allow almost any door to open over it easily. For this custom-sized mat, measure your space, select the 4-ft. width, then specify a length from 4-ft. to 23-ft. long (in one-foot increments). Anti-static and commercial-grade. Mat has 100% polypropylene fiber base covered with microfiber. Anti-slip rubber backing. Antimicrobial treated and stain and mildew-resistant. Made in U.S.A.

Brookstone should have informed buyers that these rugs shrink when they are manufactured so are not 4" wide. Mine was almost 4" shorter in width. It didn't fit my entry. If I have known it wasn't 4' wide, I would have ordered a shorter rug and turned it around. It was expensive but a good color and fit under the door.

We needed mats at both back entrances to our home--the kids don't really discriminate about which we to come in! These rugs have discrete colors; they really do trap water and grime. The former gets to evaporate away without damaging the floors, and the latter generally can be vacuumed off. The mats are also quite durable, and low enough not to catch the door when it swings open. They're more expensive than I'd wish, but they are custom-made to fit the spaces I need, and they take care of the problem of winter, period!

It's very thin, no cushion when you step on it. Does its job to hold dirt and leaves from outside and keep them from spreading throughout the house. We have this inside the door and adjacent dog door. Haven't had it long enough to comment on durability but it's working well now.
