I've spent a fortune on entry rugs over the years. After reading about the durability of Waterhog mats I was surprised to find them at such a reasonable price. I needed something for my hardwood floors that wouldn't slip, would keep the floors from becoming wet and wouldn't degrade over time, and this certainly fit the bill.

Water Hog mats are great, but I purchased a heavier mat for 75% less at the local members only warehouse store; however, Brookstone has a much better selection of sizes and colors

I bought this rug initially to protect old oak flooring in our dining room from rain, snow and wet shoes. I was so impressed with how well it retains grass, birdseed, stones (and everything else you bring in on your shoes) that I had to buy another one for the main entrance to the back porch. And it does protect the floor from wetness too. I bought brown for the dining room and I it isn't as industrial looking as the charcoal one that is in my back porch. The rug is pretty flexible that I'll try to wash it in my front loader when needed. My friend likes my rug for a larger area but it is pretty pricey. I told her she will be very pleased with how well it keeps the house clean from everthing that can get tracked in from 4 kids!

I have found these rugs are perfect for my entryways. They vacuum very easily. The biggest plus on these is they protect my new hardwood floors from wetness!

At first, I was skeptical that a mat suitable for both indoor and outdoor uses would look good; however, I was completely wrong. The rug looks great with my hardwood floors and is durable and clearly very well made.

The Waterhog is at the entry to our house from the garage, where it does a pretty good job of removing water and snow from shoes. The only thing I don't care for is how often it needs to be vacuumed to look good--but, then, I purchased the navy and maybe a lighter color wouldn't show as much.

We use it as a doormat to handle wet boots and muddy shoes, inside the back door. It handles heavy traffic.

I use this mat at the back door which is in the mud room. It is the most used entrance and gets a work out. With the rain we have been having, it catches the water and keeps the adjacent hardwood foor from being tracked. I even get the dog to stand on it while I dry her off and there are no paw prints on the hardwood floor.

I purchased the Waterhog rug to use in my bathroom. Wet feet coming out of the bathtub onto my other carpets left them wet/damp forever. So far with the Waterhog, my carpet has felt dry whenever I go in the bathroom, even when it is right after someone showers.

The mat stays flat without curling up, door opens over it without sticking, and the rubber backing keeps it from sliding or being "vacuumed up".

We love the waterhog for the name alone, but it comes in handy when water-intensive items are atop hardwood floors. We've found it's a great solution when we chill beer and wine in metal tubs and don't want any condensation or leaking water to collect on the floor. Highly recommend.

WIth our new hardwood floors we wanted reasonably priced matts that were thin enough for the doors to open easily. Nothing was available in local stores. Brookstone had exactly what we wanted.

I used to get paw tracks across my wood floor, but not anymore. The grooves even work well to catch errant pieces of litter.

For a house-warming gift, I purchased three rugs. The day of the party, it rained. These rugs proved their worth in that they did not detract from the beauty of the marble and wood floors, and held-up to the large amount of water and debris tracked into the three doorways by the guests.

I use the Water Hog at entrances that are VERY susceptible to tracking in dirt. They save my floors from dog tracks, wheelchair tracks, muddy boot tracks and more. I really like all of the mats that I have and highly recommend them.

Cannot say if it is durable because I just got it. It certainly does what it promises. Soaks all whater and holds well. Cleaning is easy with asimple vacuum. Good purchase. I am giving 4 stars because I need to see how it holds up for at least a year of abuse (6 people in this house.)

Excellent & attractive; glad we got two. Leaves are falling and we have 2 dogs; however, nothing is getting tracked into the foyer (charcoal rug). I'm in and out kitchen door (navy blue rug) filling feeders and same results! They hold everything and are really easy to keep clean ... sturdy enough to not get sucked into the vacuum or can be taken outside for a quick shake.

We just installed laminate flooring in our house and wanted to keep it looking nice. This mat (and a larger one in the utility/laundry room) has kept remarkable amounts of dirt/leaves/etc. out off the floor. We have a Golden Retriever who brings in a lot of dirt from the backyard and these mats catch most of the dirt before it gets into the rest of the house. I can shake them out in the backyard and they look good as new. They are a little expensive but worth every penny compared to the cost of the flooring!

This is the first runner I've found that holds
up to dirt, water, sand, dogs and people's traffic
at the river house! It does grab the sand and
mud and keeps much of the daily dribble from
tracking upstairs.
I should have ordered it 2 summers ago!

The only con, is really part of the plus, it holds
the sand so much it takes practice to sweep or
blow it off to clean for yet another day.

Extremely Pleased with this rug. I ordered two in tan and am considering ordering two more in a different color. One of my cats likes to sharpen her claws on it and she doesn't even pull the rug off of the floor. When it first arrived I was wondering how I was going to clean it. After a few days I was vacuuming the house and went over it with the vacuum like I had done the one before it which had gotten eaten, however this rug did not move!

This mat is at our patio door where our puppy goes in and out his doggie door constantly. The mat traps all that "stuff" that dogs carry around with them. It's great.

I use this at my back door and we have a pool. It helps trap the grass and dirt off of people's shoes and pet paws and it absorbs the water also.

I bought this mat to control the amount of water and dirt my 2 large dogs drag into the house after going outside. I was so impressed with the mat that I even bought a larger size to cover my entire foyer! Now I don't have to worry about wet and muddy dog paw prints all over my wooden floor!

I've tried several different kinds of entry mats for the heavily-used back door. I believed that each one would be right for the job, but I wanted one to absorb water & dirt (mud, grass clippings, etc). I was disappointed each time until I got the WaterHog entry mat.

This mat looks great, is comfortable for bare feet, but it keeps the dirt/mud/water IN the mat! I used to have to wipe the 5 feet or so beyond the previous mats, because the other ones were not WaterHogs.

Another plus is that is doesn't take a long time to dry like the one I had before this.

I have to admit that I was hesitant, because it costs more than other mats, but the VALUE is just right for the cost!

I use one of these to keep dirt and dust from being tracked in from our garage. It works much better than the previous mat we used, and is easier to clean.

I have 3 big dogs that go in and out of the house. I have one larger mat on the outside and a smaller one on the inside. This winter it has saved on the dirt brought into the house by these dogs.

I wanted to protect my hard wood floor against any "spills" that might occur from my cat's litter box. Knowing that any water (or water-like substance) would be trapped in the mat gave me peace of mind.

I live in rainy climate. Waterhog stops most water and dirt from shoes. It even seems a magnet for loose dog hair, keeping a lot of it out of the house.
Works better than cocoa mats and rubber tire mats.

I put this mat right inside my front door. I have hardwood floors that were constantly getting wet and muddy from the New England winter weather all over people's shoes. This mat not only looks nice but with a few wipes your shoes are clean and dry. also, the backing makes it stay in one place and not slide all over. I couldn't be happier with it.

I bought this because we were having a really rainy season and it was ruining the hardwood floor by the door from all the in and out with the dogs and wet umbrellas, etc. and it helped tremendously in keeping the water off the wood floor and in the mat instead.

We have this rug in our entryway. It stays put even though the door is opened frequently. Easy to vaccuum and does a nice job of absorbing most of the snow and rain.

I actually use this mat for under my two large breed dogs water bowls. They are elevated dishes and when they would drink there would be a big puddle underneath and around the area. Now that I have the waterhog mat it is not an issue. This mat absorbs all the water when they drink. It works great. Would highly recommend this product for any area where you have wet conditions.

This wasn't as absorbable as I hoped, but the texture helped remove some of the leaf particles and dirt from my dogs feet under the doggy door.

This product is so great. I was tired of having construction and garden debris come into my house from my and my family's shoes. This rug traps all kinds of dirt and keeps it there. Just vaccume or beat out the dirt and it is clean again! It looks great, is high quality, and very durable.
