Received this item as a gift a few months ago. It worked well at first. The screw mechanism failed to turn and began pushing corks into bottles. Finally the screw bent, and is useless.

I cannot operate the Rabbit for some reason (lack of patience and coordination perhaps), I can use a waiter's corkscrew but it is a bit of a battle for me - this opener is practically effortless, it makes me look like a professional! I have bought many to give as gifts and it has always been well received!

Loved the features demonstrated in the store. However after having the opener for a few months it became difficult to use and finally after a small metal piece fell out (looked like the tooth of a gear), the handle froze. What a disappointment....after paying [$] I didn't expect it to be worse than a dime store wine opener!

My husband and I open a bottle of wine approximately once a week, for personnal use, we entertain very infrequently and opener broke after a year and a half of use. We will not purchase anything else from Brookstone in the future due to poor quality of this item. I prefer not to take a chance on getting another inferior product when I can purchase similar items for a lot less with similar or better performance and longevity at a multitude of other stores.

I'm normally a bargain hunter so have gone through a lot of wine openers with little success. Bought this one as a gift and with the buy one, get one at half price promo going at the time, the bargain hunter in me had to get one for myself. I couldn't be happier with it. Far and away the easiest and most durable looking wine opener I've seen among my own cheap ones and more expensive models at others' homes. Is much smaller than the big clunky wine openers as well which takes up far less drawer space. Of course it even looks good enough that you don't need to hide it away in a drawer if you don't want to.

I use this for my personal use and it is so very easy. It is money well spent. This item also comes with a foil cutter as well. However, I have a little difficulty with the foil cutter. But when I get it right, it is wonderful!!!

I love this thing!!! I bought it as a gift for my huband. After he used it the first time he said "this thing's so easy even you can use it." He was right. I'm terrible at opening wine bottles without breaking the cork. With this I had no problems. It is more durable than any other opener we've ever used.

I have used it several times. It is fairly light weight and is compact enough to take on trips. It works very well in quickly removing the cork. The only problem and the reason for the 4 star is that it doesn't always go to the bottom of the cork so that you still have to tug a bit to get the cork out.

There is nothing more disappointing than having cork pieces drop into a bottle of wine. With this nifty opener, that is a thing of the past! It makes opening a bottle of wine way too easy. I've used many openers over the years and have always reverted back to my small waiter style corkscrew (purchased 30 years ago during my waitressing days). It took a while to figure out how to make it grab the cork correctly. Also, when you unscrew the cork from the unit, it doesn't hold it so it falls on the floor or counter. I preferred my Rabbit

I've purchased 3 of these. Two for myself, one as a gift for my brother-in-law who always seems to have difficulty opening wine.

Has a solid feel, but not too heavy. I find it easy to use, you don't need a ton of effort to remove the cork from the bottle. Very quick and effective.

The foil cutter comes in handy and also does a great job.

This gorgeous wine opener has to be the best solution out there. A simple 2-step down-and-up easy motion gets the job done. Then repeat to release the cork. The foil cutter is sleek and simple too. I have had my wine connoisseur for almost 2 years. It has been used many, many times. I have never had to replace the cork screw. I love it so much that I gave one to my good friend for her birthday. Everyone is amazed at how easy it is to use. It says to only use it on real cork but I've used it on synthetic cork and it works just as well.

It is so easy and convienient for tralveling. Friends had really expensive ones, for the price this is durable and very functional. I do think that people with arthritis would have a problem since you have to grip th handles kinda hard.

I have been a big fan of the teflon-coated screw wine openers since purchasing one [...] for my parents 50th anniversary several years ago. However, this new design [...] is even better. I am very pleased with how easily it removed the cork, and also how easily it releases it. The opener is very study... You will not be disappointed.

This was a truely amazing gift for a short period of time. After a few months use(and I don't drink that much wine) the screw that goes into the cork stayed in the cork. It would unscrew itself from its holder somehow and I can not figure out how to repair or see how to obtain replacements parts. Frustrated.

This little device is the easiest and slickest way to open a bottle of wine. How many times have you witnessed a host struggle with the old style openers attempting to get the cork out of the bottle. Not with this unit. With two- just TWO- easy motions, you are done and complete. Every time.

I have three of these now, since I have had such fun with them.
