Big issue here. The disk drive in IMACs is imbedded into the screen.
The little CD supplied that you need to down load the software does not function with the IMAC.
The CD needs to be of standard size, not the mini units.

I found the Digital Photo Keychain very easy to download pictures onto. Also easy to operate and the pictures are remarkably clear for as small as they are. I gave it to my dad on his 85th Birthday and he absolutely loves it. I would like one both for myself and my husband. Maybe next Christmas, I would like to buy them for all my children.

The screen is very, very small. I ordered 3 of them, as gifts, and one of them was already broke in the box. The keychain was broken from the screen. Would not recommend. There are many products out there just like this, cheaper and MUCH better screen resolution.

This digital photo keychain is small enough to fit in your pocket and yet has a great screen to show all your photos. It was easy to load photos on it and has good color quality. I liked it so much I went and bought one for my mother-in-law after Christmas to show off her grandkids!

Looking at the pictures of this device on the web site, it looks strong and sturdy, seemed easy to use, and I was sure it would show the pictures in a high-resolution format on the little screen.

My first impression on receiving the item was
that it felt quite light and hollow, that the sturdy looks was just that - looks. I don't think this would survive being on my keychain very long. Loading the pictures required me to load some software - you can't just plug it in and copy the pictures over. But the install and usage of the software was still easy enough. When I loaded the pictures, they were displayed in mediocre resolution. I had expected better resolution. But the device is very easy to use, the three buttons are easy to figure out how to use.

I wouldn't really want to keep it for myself, but my kid really liked it so I gave it to her.

I really like the idea of this product. But I would recomment to look for a better one, or wait til a better one is built by Brookstone or someone else.

Makes a good gift for grandparents for baby photos. There is a utility to shrink the photos to the keychain. Display looks good, can hold about 100 or so photos. Not the sturdiest item, but seems like it should hold up.

i purchased 5 digital keychains at the airport of san antonio, and i put off the boxes and brought the keychains by themselves. i never saw or found a cd in the boxes. my problem now is how to get them runnig, as i need the cd with software. is there a way to download the software ???????

I found the software easy to load, and it was very nice how the software re-sized the photos for fast loading and optimum resolution on the keychain. I loaded all my photos within a few minutes. My one concern is that when I turned the keychain on again in a hour or so, all but 4 of my pictures were gone! So, I reloaded them and have not had the same problem since. I don't know what it was. Photos without too much detail showed up best - such as a closeup/headshot of a person - but even some photos we took while hiking in the mountains looked pretty good.

This is the answer for anyone who asks "Do you have pictures of your kids?" They're always handy with this. BUT, I lost my first one because it "unscrewed" from my keychain. Liked it so much I bought another, but put a drop of Gorilla Glue on the threads of the screw. It's holding so far.

I bought this product for my mother, a co-worker, and my girlfriend for Xmas. Both my mother and co-worker were able to upload photos immediately. They are not very computer savvy, so i was suprised when they told me this.

So i went home and hooked up my girlfriends. It is probably one of the easiest pieces of software i have ever used. Also, i was worried about the display being too small, but the pictures are very clear and the scrolling function helps a lot.

We will be using ours for a long time.

I strongly recommend it.

I purchased one online for my wife. Then we bought one in a store. This was apparently an older model, though packaged the same. The software from the 2nd model is not compatible with the first and vice versa, and I can't load both on my computer. Thus, we can use only one of the two. The software should have been compatible.

I use this product just to give a visual image while talking to people sometimes, a picture is worth a thousand words. Also its just nice to have photos of people, pets, and things that you love. It shows the photos as vividly as a nice copy of the the actual photos. I was worried about the size of the screen, however when i started using it the screen size didnt take away from the photos. Its so easy to load the photos in there too. The only issue i have with it is, I dont so much enjoy it when I am looking for a specific photo and the same one keeps poping up or when im showing photos there are repeat photos. I would like it to hold more than 5O photos, however I cant be too picky. Its a really impressive key chain for sure!

If you are using windows XP is a good keychain.... it makes some strange sound when its on..... on vista is a big nightware it doesnt work, the sofware crashes when you try to add images..... you select the folder, and when it shoudl preview the images it crashes. Setting up and installing the 'picture program' onto my pc was so easy to understand and menouver through; Loading pictures was the easiest! Getting the phone call from my husband in Iraq about how much he loves it... The best gift for him this year!! He loves it and is also able to load some picture documents onto it to take to work! It does take some time to turn on and load itself up, but other than that, it's a great, inexpensive gift for someone constantly on the move!!

Other reviewers perhaps had an earlier version of this product, but the included mini-CD ROM DOES include Mac compatible software. The software is rudimentary, and somewhat unintuitive, but it does work. The included software is slow to read the volumes on your Mac.This device does NOT show up as a connected volume on a Mac, and MUST use the supplied software.The construction is cheap. The screen appears OK, but the metal casing is extremely thin and prone to scratching. The buttons have a fairly solid feel, and should last through the warranty period. If you intend to actually use this as a keychain, spend the extra $5 and purchase the protector. It includes a clear screen film, and is well made.

I orginally purchased one of these in a Brookstone store as a gift for my cousin who was moving from NYC to LA. We loaded it with family pictures before giving it to her. She loved it when she opened it!

More than a year later, I decided to get my own. I love showing off pictures, but it's tough carrying prints around all the time -- this photo keychain seemed like a perfect solution! Now I can keep 100 digital pictures with great resolution on my person to show off. The keychain is really easy to use! It comes with a USB cable, and you can charge the 2 hour battery via this cable. I carry this keychain everywhere. It's a MUST have for all photo enthusiasts!

Picture quality is poor. Software would not start unless I deleted all photos from keychain first.

When I uninstalled software it removed some driver files that Windows needed causing my computer to crash.

This product does not work with Toshiba computer. Device can't be recognized. Cute little gadget but I'll never know how cute because can't get passed hooking it up. My daughter gave me this digital photo keychain for my birthday. It is so easy to use and easy to carry with you everywhere you go. I loved it so much, I bought one for my mother in law and programed the pictures in it for her. I also bought one for my husband and I know he loves it because he enjoys sharing pictures...and it's so easy to change pics anytime you'd like. I have seen other similar photo keychains and they do not compare in quality of this one. This product is so reasonable, I recommend anyone to try it.

This is a clever way to show off multiple photos without carrying around your camera or a photo album. Especially in the digital age, where photos are taken and uploaded, this is the easiest way to show them off. The photo viewer attaches easily to a keychain, making it readily accessible. Our only real issue was that when we tried to install the software to my laptop, it crashed the program, and we had to install it on another computer to use it. However, we use this to show off the photos of our new baby, and in a case like that, one photo is just not enough!

I bought this for my husband for Father's Day and he loved it. I downloaded pictures of the children and favorite family photos, which was very simply easy and quick. It stores a lot of images, was pleasantly surprised. He thought it was great and it's small not bulky, yet the images are clear. I loved it and thought this is great even for myself or for another gift!!! A+++++++ item.

I love everything about it except the interface. It worked perfectly the first time, but I have not been able to add more pix. The program freezes, and sometimes freezes up the entire computer. Uninstalling and reinstalling the software only made it worse. I can still show off my grandchildren, but only at the age they were when I was able to load their pictures :-)

I've bought this keychain five times for gifts, and it is wonderful. It holds 60ish photos--has the largest display of the keychains out there--has a slideshow function. Just a great product. Easy to use, too.

This is the best quality mini digipic item that I have found so far. Just probably not great to use as a keychain because as your key's turn, so does the barrel and you are apt to lose the photo part. Great as a clip on accessory in your handbag though!

I researched these and tried out 3 models. Brookstone's has the sharpest picture by far. Being a photographer, I am very picky. I have since purchased a few as gifts for my family. This is a great way to carry and share pics. I would not, however, recommend it being put on a keychain simply because the barrel untwists and I actually lost my first one. Brookstone did replace it for me so I cannot speak highly enough about your customer service folks!! I will be a continued customer. Now I keep it inside my handbag rather than on a keyring as I don't want to risk losing it. It's a keeper!

Sent it to Florida to my father-in-law for Father's Day. He loves it! He's 80 yrs. old and he says it is easy to use...has a nice big clear picture, yet it is compact for your pocket. He shows it off to family and friends. He has pics of the grandkids, family photos, a great golf shot, he goes 4 times a week! Even fish he's caught on a charter boat, and well just anything really. It is very useful. Let your mind wander and you'll think of so many uses for this light, compact wonder....

This was a Christmas gift and aside from the quirks of the software (had to save pics as .gif files in a separate folder before uploading), I have LOVED this item. This was until about 2 weeks ago (5 mos of use) when the chain that holds the unit on, broke in half. I tried to super glue it, but it is heavy and gets bumped, so it didn't hold. I have to think that I can't be the only person this has happened to and I'd like to get a replacement. I plan to go to the store soon to inquire - I am just glad that I heard it when it fell and I didn't lose the thing completely!

As a Christmas gift, I hadn't really started to use this until recently (June). But I was still incredibly amazed. I barely had to look back at the owner's guide to use the keychain. And I was so excited to attach it to my keys and show all my friends. It's such a great way to keep recent vacations in your pocket-- much better than a cell phone screen and way more conveniant than a digital camera.
However, the real reason I stopped by brookstone.com today was to see if there was anyway to fix the small software problems I've been having. Interestingly enough, the actual keychain is not the problem, but the software can sometimes be moody (isn't all technology these days?)

This was a gift to carry with me and as a key chain it is a poor idea because the quality of the screen is not durable. I take care of my items and this is not a smart idea for a key chain because the screen schattered and was classifed as a abused and not covered by warranty.
