after quite a while putting it together, the main table top is not supportive enough. You cannot really lean on the table top. The lip is not large enough to feel confident putting a laptop on, though it serves well as a food tray for dining in front of the TV.

I bought this item on sale because I use my laptop a lot on the couch while watching TV or Gaming. This table is fitting my needs with a few modifications. Since it's mostly wood except the base, it's easy to mount a power strip to or hangers to hang equipment off of (i have a headset hanging off a screw in L bracket i bought at [...] for example). SO far it's working well, holds my laptops. remotes, controllers, a cup and a few small things in the drawer like batteries, pens , sticky notes.Now the things i don't like about the table are that it's sturdy enough but it is a bit wobbly. I in no way thing it's going to fall over or anything but it's not rock solid, it sways a bit while you're typing on the computer. I think the most important thing is really tighten those first two screws it has you install in the instructions which secures the base to the vertical post.I'd be happy with the drawer if it were half an inch taller inside, i wanted to put a battery recharger in there and drill a hole for the power to go from the power strip i installed into the drawer but it just won't fit. Remotes don't fit either, about the only thing i've been able to put in there are pens and a small pad of paper.Last beef is the metal base. It doesn't slide under my couch so when i pull the lever to put the foot stool up, the stool slams into the the base. I've even taken the casters off to see if i could get just enough clearance but no go. The casters aren't very good quality either so i'm just keeping them off. I don't have a need to wheel this around anywhere.Overall it's a decent table, a bit more quality could have been put into it though especially for the money they want for it. But being wood you can add 'upgrades' to the table s you want to make it more useful. I'm wondering if i can just hacksaw the feet off on one end if that would have any negative impact. I've noticed their new table the base is a T shape not an H shape like this one so i'm wondering what would happen if i modify the base to be a T shape and that would solve my couch clearance issues. hmmm.

I purchased it because I am bed bound a lot. The wheels do not roll on the carpet. The table is very flimsy and for the purchase price it really should be better quality. I am very dissatisfied with the design because it doesn't roll under the bed very far and in my opinion it should have had small holes for ventilation of the laptop heat. I probably could have purchased something better elsewhere cheaper and possibly of better quality and design. I would take it back but it would be too much of a hassle, but I'll never recommend it to anyone.

I bought this for my husband for christmas He just had a total knee. Thought it would be great for laptop or breakfast in bed. Unfortunately it does not get far enough to use the laptop in bed, and definitely cannot use for the right side of the bed. Also did not fit under our couch in tv room. Very expensive, wish we had sent it back, but after all the work of assembling and two of us with disabilities it was too awkward.

I knew I wanted a rolling table for my husband's laptop. His office is downstairs with the PC but he uses the laptop upstairs all the time, moving it about from place to place. I decided to get him a usable workspace for laptop use. I searched the internet and this is the nices laptop table I could find. It's stylish and has a drawer. I wish I had one and can see that it would be a great gift for our parents as well.

Ours had a painted over gouge on bottom leg, chips out of table and edges where you could see the brown finish under the black finish we wanted. POOR QUALITY CONTROL!

Cannot use this product, as it is flimsy and clumsy. The design and construction is unwieldly and not at all up to the usual standards that I am used to having with your merchandise.
Unfortunately, I disassembled and returned it to my local Brookstone store the same day I received it on my doorstep. Hope it improves.

Ours had a gouge in the leg that was painted over, two chips in paint on table and several edges that the brown finish showed through. Poor quality control.

I ended up returning this after my computer fell off it (the ridge at the table edge wasn't high enough at the angle I had it). The adjustable section sloped downward (left to right, not the front to back tilt which is intentionally adjustable)--it seemed cheap or flimsy. FYI, the part of the table which contains the drawer it at a fixed height, which might not be apparent in the product description. I love the idea but the product's not ready for prime time, so to speak.

Bought for my husband for Christmas - my 13 yr. old son helped me assemble ahead of time - not the easiest, even with 2 people, but managed to get it done OK. Halfway through, found that a part was missing - called 800 number right away - only to find out a week later that part would take several months to order and send to me - was bummed to have to present as a gift with part missing. Husband didn't seem all that impressed (have to admit I was disappointed in the "hospital" look of it, etc.) Looking back, seems VERY expensive for how the whole thing turned out compared to similar items I've since seen in the stores.

This product is very pooly designed extremely flimsy at the base and the wooden upright cracked and split when moved. causing it to drop a 1200.00 lap top on the floor. Fortunately there was no damage to that. I would not ever recomend thi product to anyone period. It has been disassembled repacked and will be returned for a refund this weekend

First replace all screws with quality steel screws, or drill out screw holes guides else the furnished screws will strip.

This table is advertized with a laptop on it, but with any but the lowest extension it wobbles, feels unsafe to risk a laptop on other then a mini at the lowest height and no angle on the tray.

Almost impossible to assemble alone. Design looks good, but not functional. Wheels are too big to fit under furniture and awkward to wheel around. Tray tilts both frontward and backward, making it easy to drop your laptop. Single leg design is unstable for 17" laptop.

I bought this for my daughter to keep her computer on in her room because she doesn't have a lot of space. The wheels are so wide that it doesn't "fit" neatly anywhere in her room. The wheels should be the same width as the desktop. The wide span on the bottom doesn't allow it to move next to her chair or bed so she can use the desktop easily. It's a great idea, just needs a little more work.

My family uses the product to work with the laptop and it is a little unstable and the screws to put it together were missing so we had to use two of our own and they screwed all the way through the wood.

To start with, the manual has a serious problem with one of the steps toward the end. It took me a while to figure out on my own how to complete that step. Otherwise it was fairly simple to assemble.

I bought this product a few months ago to save space in my one bedroom apartment. To that end, it's effective. But the desk itself is not very stable. It can't handle much weight without wobbling slightly and leaning to the right. Not the quality product I expect from Brookstone.

Nice design However it bows umder weight of a 8 lb laptop and then has as awkward lean angle for typing. Not confident that it will also handle the weight of resting your arms while typing. Also if you push ( slide ) it from the top work surface it will twist ( when on a carpeted floor) . LOOKS great but is not a performer. METAL frames may be better than the three piece wooden post. It doesnot adjust low enough to find a comfortable typing position. Try to find one BEFORE you buy it.

I bought the rolling reading table for my laptop use, so it serves a purpose. Unfortunately it's awkward to move, it's flimsy, and I don't see quality in the construction (i.e. wheel does not stay on properly). I think for the amount of money I spent it was not worth it.

We bought this table not too long ago. It serves the principal intent why we decided to purchase and that was to use our lap top and watch TV at the same time. The only "con" would be the small working area of the side table. We are pleased with our purchase.

I read a lot in my Master's program. This reading table was the best for the money. It is functional and beautiful...it fits in our formal living room decor. It has helped my reading posture immensely. The drawer is great for storage of writing instruments, etc. It might be better if the drawer could be assembled either on the left or right side, depending on the person's writing hand. The table is a bit wobbly. The tendency, in rolling the table closer to you, is to grab it by the desk-top and pull. But, that puts too much leverage on the pedestal. The pedestal should be larger at the base and should be attached to the base with more than two screws. I have to constantly re-tighten the screws. But, other than that, it is a great piece.

I specifically purchased this rolling table to use with my laptop computer whilei watching television in the family room. The overall look of the table is excellent, the cherry finish looks very nice.
Things that bother me about this rolling table is it is not very sturdy, I have to keep tightening it after a few uses. Also, the location of the drawer end of the table. I use my mouse with my right hand, so I do not have access to the drawer since I've had to turn the table around.

The table makes it easier to work from the couch without having a computer in your laptop. It slides easily under the couch. The only thing I would change is to make the table side a little bigger.

I use the reading table to hold books and a laptop, though I wouldn't suggest a heavy laptop - haven't experimented to see just how much weight it can take (and still slide around).
Also, be careful how tight you screw the adjustable features, I've had to super glue the handles back to the screws when I turned it too far.

All in all it is a nice convenience to have by the bed. If I were long term bed ridden I might go for a more industrial version, but for hold some magazines or a light laptop it is nice.

I put my laptop on this table and it is easy to roll the table away from my chair or roll it closer to my chair to do all of my computer work. It was easy to assemble and I have not had any problems with it thus far.

I purchased this to use as part of our home office. It does a reasonable job of holding my laptop, mouse and a pad of paper. The height off of the floor and the design make it a little awkward to use outside of with a desk chair, but I do enjoy the convenience and portability. I purchased the one in black, and it did arrive with a fair amount of the laquer rubbed off around the edges, which I ended up coloring in with a permanent marker.

We ordered this table for use by my husband in his power recliner/lift chair. It took me a bit to put it together, but the assembled table is attractive and fairly sturdy, although a bit more wobbly than I would like. The biggest drawback for us is that the legs do not work well with the recliner, making it difficult to get the table close enough to him for reading. It would be better with a chair with more clearance underneath or for use in bed, assuming you don't store things under the bed that would get in the way.

Table was exactly as described. I am a little concerned with the main pedestal, that holds the desk. I think as long as you handle with care should be no problem. Maybe if the coaster wheels were larger it might be more moveable. The ability to move the height and slant are great. Will go under the bed so that can even be used in the bedroom. Got this table to use while caring for a relative after surgery. Much more attractive than the standard issue hospital bedside tables. Nice combination of fixed and tilting tabletops. Not very hard to assemble, but would be easier if done by two people just for holding things in place (I did it by myself).

I use as laptop computer table while teaching music lessons at a piano. Drawer very handy. Edges on black finish not well stained - light wood shows through - Much sturdier than other brands (laptop fell off flimsy table made by another manufacturer and screen had to be replaced.)

For several weeks this adjustable table provided a nice surface and adjustable angle for working on my laptop. However, when adjusting the angle the table on one occassion, the table quickly tilted and several of the small screws were stripped from the wood, rendering the table not useable...

....I found the instructions for this item very clear and easy to follow - far more so than for the majority of "assembly required" products. I put it together myself in about 45 minutes, although an assistant to hold the heavier pieces would have been helpful. Altogether, an attractive, high-quality item.

This is a decent buy but the directions were hard to follow. I ended up putting a longer screw almost through the top of the desk due to the poorly written instructions... now I am left with a bumpy top from the accident, so be careful! It's nice looking but a bit wobbly.
