upside: can watch birds in nearby feeders from hammock without nasty surprises falling on me from above, attach magnetic goose lamp to support pole and nighttime reading is possible downside: pillow not at all comfortable, not so easy to exit quickly due to awkward positioning of zipper-it might not look so great but perhaps it would be better to position zipper in middle on one side for easier exit

Went together quickly, no tools needed. Larger than expected and a wonderful addition to my yard. Hammock is a bit stiff, but toss on a comforter and a few pillows and you'll never want to leave.
