This little coffee maker... makes coffee to the best temperature, for a good cup of coffee... about 179°.

I bought a more expensive brand because it made up to 14 ozs. I have returned it and gotten a refund. It was terrible, it didn't get the water hot, and the coffee tasted like... barely hot water with a hint of plastic.

After doing a lot of research, it's hard to find a maker that I can use my own coffee in. So I went on a search for another Brookstone!

The one I've had for about a year works just fine, but it's very hard to find a single serve maker that isn't specifically for pods, and I don't want pods. I love my own brand of coffee and want a maker to use my own coffee in and not a pod!

So I'm ordering another Brookstone, to have on hand. Maybe by the time both of them wear out, single serve makers using your own coffee won't be such a difficult item to find.

As for a complaint that I read about it leaking... That happens when the coffee grind you're using clogs up the reusable filter, that comes with this maker.

But I don't like using a reusable filter anyway, because it's more trouble to clean than just throwing away a paper filter, and a brown paper filter gives you the best possible brew.

So I use my own brown paper filters.... Delicious coffee, less cleaning and No Leaks.

My husband drinks coffee. I drink tea. Without knowing it we both bought one for each other for Christmas. We love them. His is reserved for coffee and mine is reserved for tea. Buying one now for a dear friend.

Occasionally one will leak 1/2 the brew onto the counter. Can't figure out why or how to keep it from leaking. Any insights?

Giant carries tiny #1 paper filters for stronger coffee.I use 2 large scoops /cup and until i used the paper filters coffee went all over during the brewing. On the rare occasion my husband wants a cup after me the wait time is a mystery! Very annoying!

I have had my little coffee maker since 2006 and make 3-4 cups a day with it. I have never had a problem with it (clean little spout as previous reviewer stated). It does not fit big mugs, it fits just a standard coffee mug which is perfect for me. I am going out today to purchase one for my daughter to use at school. It has lasted me 5 years so far, well worth the [$]. Buy it! You wont be sorry!

I asked for a small coffee pot for my office for Christmas because the office coffee is stale and aweful. The Brookstone coffee maker brews a good cup of coffee. I usually brew two cups over the course of the morning because the cup is small relative to the large cups I buy at the coffee shops. I like the reusable metal mesh filter.

Those who say this leaks, I actually have an earlier version of this and the little arm that drips the water into the basket (NOT THE CUP ITSELF) accumulates hard water/lime deposits just like a shower head. Run Vinegar through it or just clean the spout off. THAT IS why it appears to leak or 'spew' off sideways. Same with the basket holding the coffee. Clean the hole where the coffee drips into your cup as well. It needs maintenance but it is awesome.

I love it! After two uses I've learned not to remove the cup immediately after the brewing light goes out, but rather wait 'til the last 'brewing noises' are gone; otherwise you'll find water in the cup compartment.

first one broke when it got wet - its a coffee maker it should be able to get a little wet! brookstone gave me a new one and i have been very careful to not get the button wet. works great, easy to clean, great for personal use.
