The Serta Waterproof Heated Mattress Pad features a large controller knob that is easy to grasp and easy to turn. When the pad is first turned on each night, it will preheat on HI until the desired warmth level is achieved and then automatically hold at that level for the rest of the night. Unlike other heated mattress pads, this pad heats evenly, providing all-over warmth with no hot or cold spots.

This mattress pad uses low voltage and features an over-temperature cutoff so that if the pad becomes overheated (from someone balling it up for example), the pad automatically throttles the heat down to a safer level but does not turn it completely off. After the offending condition is corrected, it automatically reverts back to normal. It also automatically shuts off after 10 hours.
