i have the previous version, without the wheels. it has lasted me four years, and has been really useful, as it has a padded laptop pocket, and several others. but the straps are getting frayed from having been crossed over my rolling suitcase too often. i wanted a simple replacement. would have bought the one with wheels, but it is missing one of the side pockets that the older version had. this is an open, unzippered pocket into which i could easily put a water bottle, or a couple apples, or my labtop power cable, or a small paperback. it's GONE, and nothing has been put in its place. there is thus one useless side to this backpack. i thought about buying it anyway, and sewing on the missing pocket. might still do that if i don't find something better. can't imagine why the makers of this backpack removed that very useful item.

Comments about 16" Rolling Backpack:
Only one clip is not enough to secure the wheel attachment - it needs at least one more on the bottom closer to the base with wheels... Otherwise the handle brakes off easily because of too much pressure from weight

Comments about 16" Rolling Backpack:
Nice looking and well constructed bag. Wheel trolley way great. Everything worked like a charm, and the bag, used alone, is a great backpack for daytrips. But: The plastic latch for attached the wheel trolley to the bag broke on my very first trip with it. It's plastic; perhaps metal would work better? Or two latches instead of just one?
Very disappointed. I really liked this bag, but a delicate latch defeats the entire purpose.

Thhis is the worst rolling backpack that I've ever. After only one week one of the arms that support the wheels broke. Please do not buy this model!!!

Comments about 16" Rolling Backpack:
The main reason I purchased this backpack was for the "checkpoint friendly" laptop storage. I had a backpack with this feature before and was excited to see this backpack had that feature. The next reason for my purchase was the removable wheel and handle. I think there could've been a little more thought put into how this handle secures to the backpack; it's only secured by one connection and tends to slid off the bottom of the handle and wheel when I'm lifting the backpack by the handle that's attached to the backpack and place it in my car or the overhead storage on a plane . I hope it doesn't break anytime soon. Another reason for my purchase was the sleek design. So many of the other backpacks look like they are more for hiking, then business.

Flyback and fourth from Co and Alaska every two weeks. The plastic slider at the back of the bag has broken off three times on me now.Brookstone has replaced it every time but that does you little good in the middle of the night running across an airport trying to catch a tight connection. Looking for something a little more dependable

Comments about 16" Rolling Backpack:
This bag is one of the best laptop bags I have owned, but it has one design flaw in the detachable wheel attachment. The plastic slider at the back of the bag (to slide in the detachable wheels) is of poor quality and may break with multiple uses (mine broke in about 6-7 months). I would detach and attach the wheels about 3-4 times a week during travel. If you don't plan to detach and attach the wheels as frequently, then this may not pose to be a problem for you.
Additionally, an option to fix the flat base of the wheel attachment to the bottom of the bag will make it less unweildy to lift this bag using the handle, while climbing stairs. This is a very minor issue though.

Comments about 16" Rolling Backpack:
Lots of easily accessible pockets. The separate section for laptop and iPad is very nicely designed, making it easy to remove these to meet TSA screening. I'm still working on the best way to deal with the removable handle and wheels. They fit nicely in the bag, but it is hard to get to them if things are packed around them. If I don't remove them, they make the bag awkward for storage.

Comments about 16" Rolling Backpack:
1. The laptop sleeve should not extend so high. Insertion and removal of the laptop is very difficult.
2. The wheel system connects with only a small connector on the back. Ideally it should have a support that connects the backback at a 2nd location to minimize movement of the bottom to the left or right. It should have a velcro strap or pocket on the backpack that the wheel assembly support shelf slides into before you attach the clip. For the price, these flaws dissappoint me.

Comments about 16" Rolling Backpack:
Cumbersome to use as a backpack if the wheels are kept attached.
It would help if the base bumpers extend further along the back,
