RMS Titanic Propellers Photograph w/ Recovered Coal Fragment
RMS Titanic Propellers Photograph w/ Recovered Coal Fragment
Own a piece of history.
The RMS Titanic was the largest passenger steamship in the world when she set off on her maiden voyage.
Being the largest steamship, obviously the Titanic's propellers also needed to be large. This photograph shows the Titanic waiting in dry dock at the Harland and Wolff shipbuilding yard in Belfast, with workmen dwarfed by her three massive propellers. The center propeller was made from manganese bronze, and cast in one piece. The outer two propellers were cast in sections. All together they weigh nearly 60 tons; weight of the outer propellers was about 38 tons, while the smaller center propeller weighed about 22 tons.
This dramatic image is framed with a piece of coal that was recovered by the RMS Titanic from the 1994 Titanic Research and Recovery Expedition. This is the only item from the actual Titanic wreckage that can be sold to the general public. Certificate of authenticity included.
