Easily the best headphones I have ever bought as far as comfort and sound go. I have tried so many other headphones and nothing compares to these. Although, I am on my second pair which has already begun to wear on the wire. Although they aren't that durable, the headphones are worth it.

Best headphones I've ever bought, great sound, ridiculously comfortable, only the plastic tends to fall off the headphone and the other end wears over time. I'm on my second pair and would buy more even if they keep breaking because of how good they are.

A Better Alternative for iPod Users
By iPod GoddessVerified Reviewer from Westchester County, NY on 5/30/2008

The sound quality is great. Outside-the-ear design means headphones stay in place and won't fall out like Apple ones sometimes do. I own a set for each of my two iPods. One suggestion would be to offer the retractable version of these in white instead of black-only.

These are the best headphones I have ever had- and I went through dozens of headphones. They don't blowout, you can turn up the volume as much as you want and it won't hurt your ears, they're comfortable, and the sound is absolutely amazing. I am buying my second pair of these because every time I wanted to take out the buds, I would pull on the wires, so obviously the wires came out of their place. A fault of my own. But other then that, it is perfect.

Initially I was very pleased with this product. Having small ears, I have trouble finding earbuds that fit me & stay in place. These are comfortable and stay snug during skiing, running, and sleeping. But after just a few weeks, the wire came loose from the input jack... it still played alright but required duct tape to secure. And now one of the soft clear pieces fell off one of the earbuds, so now it doesn't stay in my ear! Apparently Brookstone doesn't offer replacements! Bummer!!

These are the best in terms of comfort and sound. I am purchasing my third pair. However, the reason I am on my third pair is because the rubber tip (not the black foam cover thing) but the actual tip of the ear piece has fallen off and subsequently lost. I tried to purchase a replacement piece but had no success. Other than that, I cannot find any I like better.

After testing quite a few products I decided on this one. The fit is great (as it has ear "hooks" you never have to worry about the device falling out). And the sound is even better. The surround sound effect provides more than enough range, is clear and crisp as well...

These are the best earbuds I have ever owned, and I've gone through many. The sound is terrific for the price - I don't notice any ambient noise. Two suggestions: Offer replacement pieces for the clear plastic cover over each bud, and a longer cord for connection. I've just ordered another set due to loosing the plastic piece from one of the buds rendering this set useless and $$ the drain. Secondly, the cord is too short for use on a computer when the computer is any more than 2 feet away and on the floor. Replacement parts are NEED to have, longer cord, NICE to have.

I love these earbuds. I have very sensitive ears and cant use the regular buds that come with the ipod because they hurt too much. But these buds are awesome! I use my ipod every night before I go to bed and even when I'm laying down i dont feel the buds in my ears. My ownly problem with them is that the one of the rubber protectors on the right side ear piece fell off and i havent been able to find a replacement. Other than that I have been very satisfied.

After two years, these earbuds are calling it quits so I've purchased several other name brand earbuds and nothing even compares. I've done more running around buying and returning headphones when I should have sticked to the tried and true Brookstone brand. While I wish they were a little cheaper, I've found they're worth the extra money.

Gread Sound, Bad Construction
By BeakerVerified Purchaser from South Bend, IN on 1/27/2008

Cons:
Flimsy Construction
Best Uses:
Music, Portable Devices, Running, Travel

Bottom Line:

As others have said, the sound is wonderful, very good sound while allowing outside sounds to still come through(ie, phone, doorbell...) However, after 3 weeks of gentle use (walking, doing housework) the input jack began to separate and I lost sound from one earbud. In an effort, I think, to allow it to roll into the storage reel easier, the insulation on the wire was made too thin.

You could make it even better if it had some kind of way to wind up or retract the cord for traveling or even when using it and the lenght of the cord is inconvenient.

Bottom Line:

I have never had headphones this comfortable, AND they stay on, pretty much no matter what I do. I threw out the buds that came with my ipod the second I got these, and will probably never use another kind because of how comfortable they are.The only reason I didn't give it all 5 stars is that I had to replace mine after about a year. If I had kept my receipt, Brookstone would have replaced them, so I know for next time & am holding on to the receipt. But [$]is reasonable to have had to pay to replace them because of how much I love them.

The earuds fit comfortably and do have a good sound. They are a bit high priced for what you get, however. You can buy Sony's [$] that sound almost the same. One big advantage is the over-the-ear hangers. I can run 5 miles with the buds staying mostly in place.

Input jack separated after 3 Wks

Pros:
Comfortable, Rich Sound
Cons:
Flimsy Construction
Best Uses:
Portable Devices, Running
Primary use:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Sound is very good for the price. I use these daily for a 10 minute walk from parking to the office & back, plus while running, usually on a treadmill 2-3 times a week. However, as others have said, the input jack began separating about 3 weeks after purchase after what I would consider gentle use. I taped it to hold it together and continued using, but the silicone has now fallen off the ear bud. Don't know how it happened, but again, I'm gentle with these so I think construction is an issue with these. If not for that, I would love them, sound is great for the price and they are comfortable and stay on when I'm active.

I love these, I bought these to use while running as my other headphones always popped out of my ears, these stay put without feeling tight, the sound is great. they are comfortable. and they really seal out the outside noise, I live in NY City and use
these walking down the street, and I can still here my music, and even my podcasts, which used to be really hard to listen to while I was out and about, I have two other pairs of more expensive headphones, but since I bought these, it's all I use.
I can't comment on the other complaints regarding durability, since I just bought them 2 weeks ago.

My first pair worked great for about 5 months of heavy use while running. They were comfortable, stayed in place and the sound was AMAZING! Unfortunately, the cord at the plug started to break and one of the buds stopped working (probably from moisture/sweat). Since then I've bought 4 different brands trying to find ones that compare in sound & comfort & durability. None can match the sound (especially bass performance). Half of the replacement brands broke within 3 weeks of use & the others just wouldn't stay in place. These Brookstone ones are totally worth it even if you only get 5 months out of them.

The sound quality is one of the best I've seen for the price (I've compared with some at $45+ from sony and toshiba). Is comfortable and I prefer to the "bud" or "inner-ear" typce since I do alot of exercising.

One draw back is that the connection between the wire and the jack/plug is susceptable to fraying. Not likely to happen in the short-term if you're using for casual use, but for exercising or outdoor use...I'd reconsider.

I might also provide various size ear pieces for comfort adjustment.

These are the best earbuds/headphones I have ever owned, not to mention the 5th pair I have purchased in search of them! After trying many other wrap-style buds for running (apple, sony, etc.), needing something that doesn't slip out when then you sweat & move too much and won't get uncomfortable and hurt your ears after a while, these are awesome! The flexible wrap is great and I have run hundreds of miles with these never getting uncomfortable or falling out. And then there's the sound! The sound quality is excellent and even when something may be up too loud, it doesn't hurt your ear drums. Also, I can still hear outside noise like cars and people, even when my music is up and the sound quality is great. These are great and I HIGHLY recommend for anyone working out or wanting headphones that produce high quality sound and still keep you safe.

The open air quality of the headphone, plus good quality of sound make these excellent all purpose headphones. I've tried several others, and occasionally use others that isolate the sound more when I'm in really noisy environments. These are comfortable with a clean sound, do not fall off or get in the way during exercise/travel and can be worn all day. They don't shut you out of the outside world, but provide enough enclosure so that you can still hear the music comfortably in most settings. I have recommended these to a friend who wears them for very long periods, and he is very happy with them. One drawback with them is that in a very packed bag, the silicone gaskets can fall off.

These are some of the best headphones I've found for all purpose listening. The open air quality makes them comfortable enough to listen to for long periods, the earhooks make them suitable for running and exercise, and you can hear outside noises, but with just enough enclosure that they aren't always drowned out by other noises. The quality of sound is good, clear and slightly warm without any muddiness. The bass response is also quite good. I have recommended them to friends, and they have found them an excellent solution.
The one drawback I've had with them is that the silicon gaskets can fall off if they get into a packed bag.

Bottom Line:

I've just passed one year of owning these fine quality headphones, using them almost every day. They are rugged enough for jogging, etc., but they provide an expansive, well-defined panoramic sound that brings out details in music that I've never noticed before. For example, I've been able to detect the actual words of lyrics that I'd always misunderstood before. And these are 30+ year old songs heard with WAY more than 30+ year old ears!

The wrap-around ear strap is comfortable, and it keeps them from falling out while exercising, as can happen with the OEM ear buds.

They sound great, the price is right, and they last. Truly a great product.

These little over-the-ear buds sound better than they have any right to. For [$] you get sound quality which out performs [$] ear canal transducers and blows Bose 'Quiet Comfort' away. Of course, there is some ambient sound, but if you lick the soft gaskets which go in your ear, they eliminate most of it.I am really picky, but after my son bought a pair and I heard them, I ordered three and I haven't used anything else since. The best software to compare any kind of music reproduction is Sheffield Labs' Track & Drum CD - specifically the two drum tracks. Most people won't have this CD, so The Eagle's Hotel California contains enough true bass for a good assesment. Try them, buy them!
