It is a pretty useful gift, but, for some items its easily neutralized. If your wallet were to fall deep inside your couch cushion, you may not hear the beeping. If you misplaced the item you put the receiver on and did not have the remote with you, you're essentially back to square one; might be better off with a receiver that responds to claps or whistles.
In the end I do like this product a lot though.

My husband is constantly losing his keys and has "misplaced" his wallet several times this year so I bought him this to save him the time and all of us the aggravation of helping him look for these things. This is great... with the push of a button his keys, wallet, and blackberry are located. What a timesaver!
This item is used daily in my home. I am only 50 years old..We lead busy lives. We are all over. I save many minutes in the morning with this item, and at night my husband saves many more minutes. I use it to search for my keys. Then, it is time to look for the handbag.. Just attach it to any zipper or metal piece on the handbag. Today, there are so many little things on handbags, no one notices it!!. My husband works nights, always late. He attaches one to the cell phone case. It is a wonderful invention. My wife gave this to me and it is the best thing gift she could have given me. I have been known to leave my keys or phone or even wallet out on the lawn as I am a forgetful person. Just walk from room to room or to car and liston for beeps. Items are easy to locate.
I found that the two flat transmitters for items like remotes, cannot be attached to a metal item...Will not work on a Razer cellphone. The locater signal will not work.

Got this product to help find my Fathers stuff (keys, billfold, etc.) after he hides it. Alzheimer's has lead him to hide his stuff and not remember where it is. This item is very helpful in locating the stuff.
The range is not as good a advertised and the loudness of the beep is not a loud as I would like but it is adequate to find the billfold with the finder inside and under bed covers and pillows or in the bottom of the sock drawer.
The first one I got had tow receivers just die and we sent it back for full replacement. The replacement units work fine.
I would definitely recommend this product over some of the cheap alternatives. This one has a guarantee.

I purchased this for the secretary of the special ed school we work at. Its mandatory to keep all doors locked throughout the day. The secretary keeps several master keys in her office. These keys are always disappearing throughout the day. This product has solved that problem! It's great.

In order to make the unit work again, I had to clean the battery contacts within 30 days of purchase. Obviously that sort of thing should not happen.

This was a gift for my very busy friend who is always in a hurry. Now he can find his cell phone, keys or portfolio in his large store and warehouse wherever they landed last. The distance is is not great. As long as your lost keys are not too far away from the reciever, it's great.

It needs to have thinner discs to put on cell phones but most importantly, in his wallet. That's what he can never find, but the disc is too big

Works great in my opinion. I have a 3year old that likes to find the keys and then pretend he's driving. My keys and my husbands are always disappearing from where we keep them, near the door. This helps cut down on the "stress" when trying to get out the door for work. I got the bang for my buck.

The idea is terrific. I was not happ0y with performance and I bought another fromn my nson. The holders for ther key ringd don't keep0 the unit on securely. In still have onbe on my mini wallet and it works fine. The clip to hold the batteries tend to come open a lot. I would check thast out.
