This flashlight is easy to use and will cut down on battery costs. I think they probably could do away with the screwdriver to make it less bulky. Still a good product.

It's amazingly easy and comfortable to use. Most other "crank" or "shake" gadgets are just too awkward to operate. The screwdriver function is a bonus!

This flashlight is average at best. Really only useful when there is not a battery operated flashlight around. Handy for your car if you don't want to worry about replacing batteries every so often when kept in the trunk.

Do you have people on your Christmas list that you never know what to buy for? This is the perfect gift! It's practical, small & can be very handy in an emergency situation at home or in the car. Several of my gift recipients have turned around & ordered more for themselves & to give to others.

Great idea
By cynbird the sailor girlVerified Reviewer from Portland, Michigan on 10/23/2007
Pros:
Versatile
Cons:
loose crank
Best Uses:
Basement, Boat, Car, Garage, Keep In The Trunk
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I love the fact that you don't need to keep track of how old the batteries are, it's ready for use when you need it during power outages. Also, with no batteries, no leaking to ruin the flashlight. Earth friendly, no batteries to recycle! Don't like/need the screwdriver accessories, just makes the crank easy to missplace and winds loosely.

A major ice storm hit us in Southwest Missouri in January 2007 and we were without power in our house for 4 full days. Some people were without electricity for two weeks. You couldn't find batteries or candles [...] by the end of the first day. The crank flashlight was a very valuable tool.

Slightly awkward to crank but once it is the light is surprisingly bright. Great idea so you're not searching for batteries or matches in a power outage.
