I mentioned a suicide strap because a 'senior' friend rode the igallop and could have used a strap or handle to hold on for balance. It is very easy to use and does target the muscles used when you riding your horse. Entertaining and easy to use.

I've had the iGallop for three months now. It's very easy to use, you definitely feel the muscle groups it's working, and it's way more fun than sit ups. To really see results, you need to use it a lot, but since it's so easy, just ride it while you watch a TV show! I'd get one again.

My obliques are definitely getting more toned doing the beginner and intermediate workouts. I hope the advanced workout will target more of my lower abdominal area (baby belly) as this does not seem to be getting as much of a workout. I hate crunches and sit-ups, and love that I can do exercises on the iGallop that work my core.

Also, my two autistic kids 6 & 4 love it for the sensory input of horse-riding, and the 6 year old is getting more toned in the abdominal area.

I have already recommended this device to several people.

I never workout. The iGallop is great for lazy people like me. You can use it while watching TV. I followed the DVD instructions for beginners, and I did sweat. It is also kinda relaxing when I just sit on the machine and "gallop". It doesn't take a lot of room, so that's another big plus. I owned other OSIM products before. The company makes good quality products.

We purchased the iGallop mainly for our 13-year-old son, who has high-functioning autism, is obese, and because of various physical challenges, has difficulty exercising. We enrolled him in horseback therapy, which he loves, but he needs more than 45 minutes a week to strengthen his muscles, improve his balance, and calm his anxieties about occasionally riding without stirrups, etc. The iGallop has so far been a good substitute for actually being on a horse. Though it's too soon to say what muscle-strengthening and balance benefits he'll achieve long term, at least so far he enjoys using it and has no trouble doing so himself. I think I'll even slip down to the basement for a daily ride. Maybe I'll even wear spurs.

14 years ago I became almost bedridden for 2 years, and I've never been the same. I had gained a LOT of weight I couldn't lose, and even the slightest (and I do mean SLIGHTEST) exercise would put me back in the bed for days. I had to be very careful how I moved or I would pull a back muscle. I couldn't pick up a gallon of milk from the lower shelf of the fridge! I was a mess! Just a couple weeks ago I got my iGallop. Already I'm moving better than I have in YEARS. I love being able to do things for myself again, and my husband loves not having to constantly pick little things up for me. My back is MUCH stronger, and I can really feel the difference in my lower abs, too. And even the gym rats will get a kick out of doing their exercises balanced on top of this thing at a full gallop. :)

I rode for many years in competition in open jumpers, dressage, eventing and fox hunting. That was 20 years ago with my 2 horses. I am now 62 years old and want to ride again but am terribly out of shape. I am so happy with this piece of equipment. It really doesn't duplicate the actual gaits as it says in the manual. The first gait feels to me like a fast walk. The second is like a pacer and the third is kind of like in between. It's not a canter or a gallop (at least not like my horses)But it does give a good workout. I put a store bought kitchen drawer gripper on the seat and then a saddle pad and then my english saddle. It stopped the saddle from sliding from front to back. I used the pad to increase the girth to feel more like a horse. It made a big difference. It now felt more like that I was actually sitting on a horse.
A beginner horse friend of mine couldn't even sit on it without the use of the stirrups and was amazed of the workout in only 10 minutes.
The only cons would be for someone like I was 20 years ago who was riding on a regular basis 3 hours a day 6 days a week.
This is really a good product to keep or to get in shape.

I'ts very important to a have perfect posture while on it for it to be effective.

Quiet, sturdy and seems to be effective. It does need 2 carrying handles as it is heavy and awkward to move. Would buy this again and highly recommend it

So far I've used the iGallop about 4 times. It's a fun experience, and mindless exercise. But it's hard to tell whether it is working for me. I'm pretty strong in the legs as I do a lot of working so I don't feel that much happening there. But, I do feel that I'm a bit firmer in the upper belly. I'm up to using it 30 minutes at a time. I think the benefit is isometric but will need to try it longer to real know whether its working. But, it will be easy to stick at it. I guess the DVD was backordered as I'm still waiting for it. I hear that will tell me how to get a better workout from it.

I have only been using the iGallop for 3 weeks (about 12-14 15 min sessions) and already I notice a distinct toning in my hips, thighs and abs. What is so great about this machine is that it is the type of machine you can use when you really don't feel like working it out.

I can't give a firm review yet as I've just started using this since Jan 2. However, I CAN feel that my core muscles are being engaged. Not sure how long that will last or if I"ll see improvement, but so far, so good.

This is a mindless excercise. You can watch tv while you workout. It has great horseback riding mimicry. It is very hard to store and gets in the way.

I haven't had much time to use it yet with all the holiday rush but plan on getting started this weekend. I have watched the video and it looks like it will really target the hips and stomach-two areas I really need help with. There is a lot more to it than just sitting on it and riding (which happens to be kind of fun.)

I could say this is as simple as falling off a horse (which I've done) but - it's easier! Mount up and pick the speed. There are three different programs and also a random speed which is fun. Yes, I said fun! You might not think you get much of a workout, but, I'm here to tell you that this little machine is great for balancing, posture, and toning up inner and outer thighs as well as making your tummy firmer.

I bought this to target my abs and core muscles. It is easy to use and I'm noticing a difference. My son is becoming a competitive bareback rider and enjoys how the rhythm is so close to the real thing!

I ride horses and hope to find that this does strengthen core muscles. So far, I would say it does. I did warm up and beginner level and was sore as could be. Granted, I'm older and don't get much exercise other than riding actual horses about twice/week. Just sitting on it won't do much, but if you follow exercise video - you will sweat and get a good ab/core workout. It's fun too (well, mostly).

I look forward to improving core strength and balance, which should help my riding skills too!!
